I grew up in LSU country and remember the desolation that was the college football landscape in the 1990s as it pertains to the Tigers.
Around 2001, purple and gold popped up everywhere and now every slapdick that graduates from a high school in Hancock or Harrison Counties in Mississippi has been a "Tiger since birth."

I lived in Hancock from 1997-2002 and you nailed it on the head. Bunches of sidewalk fans coming out of nowhere and most of them never setting foot on Campus in Red Stick.
