The Truth About the Auburn Job....
Whoever takes the Auburn job knows three things... That they're going to be paid well, other people besides the head coach really runs Auburn football and that the NCAA is just DYING to finally get this bunch bent over a barrel.
Petrino knows he's "damaged goods" and at his age, he'll sign a five year agreement for 20 million and that will take him to his retirement if it ends there....
Of course he'll mind it's not a school that won't compete for championships and will be under NCAA sanctions for most of his time there, but the checks will clear and that will be enough for him after losing his high income job with the Hogs...
Yes, he knows the corruption at Auburn, the payoffs from boosters and all, but he'll craft his contract to make him bullet proof from withholding pay from any NCAA wrong doing that goes along with it. He'll just say he didn't know it was going on and he'll keep getting paid....
Yes, some Auburn fans will yell that they got a coach with no scruples, but do they really understand just how bad the situation is at Auburn, how little control the head coach there really has and how bad the NCAA train is going to smack them...
Coaches would only be interested in the Auburn job for ONE REASON right now... Just to get a paycheck... For Petrino, that's a deal he'll take... And Auburn will be better off for it because he WILL make some difference... They could at least become respectable again...
