Kick Texas, and OU off the list, as they were not in the SEC, at that time, and their records are a reflection of the conf they bolted from. Bunch of shitty teams in that conf
Prior to 2010 the Big 12 had a legit argument as one of toughest conferences year in year out. Stronger than SEC? Idk prob not overall top to bottom when you look how weak the North div was some years… but the South div was a meat grinder and in those days that’s who those teams mostly played
After the Big 12 was no longer a conference of 12. It was a still a competitive conference. Very good coaching and while Texas went through a series of bad coaching hires a lot of really talented TX HS recruits found homes at a variety of BIg 12 schools.
The arrogant SEC myth of the Big 12 being some cakewalk conference doesn’t match reality and has been proven an undeniable falsity by the simple fact that 3 of the 4 Big 12 schools who moved to the SEC had immediate success in the SEC.
Discounting a Big 12 program for 10+ wins a year is all the more diluted (compared to an SEC program) when one considers the 8 game SEC schedule and league scheduling. Almost every SEC team played an incredibly weak non-conference schedule every year and had 1-2 FCS type level opponents on their schedule. Many of those 10 win teams on OP list were in reality 7-9 win type talented teams with another schedule

Georgia played them 11 times in 10 seasons (twice in 2021) during that 20 year span. In those same 10 seasons, LSU played Alabama 10 times. LSU's record was 1-9, Georgia's record was 2-9.
So the other 10 times LSU played Alabama during the other 10 seasons you just ignore?
Saban years you didn't play Alabama (I won't count 2005/2006):
2009
2010
2011 (we played them twice)
2013
2014
2016
2019
2022
And the results from the years you did play them show you likely would've lost as well. Two of those LSU seasons would've been 10 regular season if we replace Bama loss with a win over someone else. How many of those years did UGA have 10 regular season wins that would've changed to 9?
Also, the rest of the West was just stronger annually than the rest of the East during these 20 years. We had top 5 runs from Mississippi State and Arkansas in those years for God's sake. We added A&M and you added Mizzou.
Point I'm trying to make is LSU and UGA are very similar, but the 10 win season total doesn't reflect that largely because of conference schedule during that 20 year timeframe. I think if we had the same schedule and played each other every year we'd be nearly identical.
ETA:
Going forward if we had the same divisions we've historically had without Texas and OU, I think the pendulum would swing though. Tennessee was in a terrible run during that 20 years and they're strong again. Bama obviously lost Saban as well.
But now we've let Big 12 scum invade our conference moreso and the old SEC is dead.

2020 hurts LSU fans so badly because they were coming off their greatest season in history. They were certain it was the beginning of a new dynasty.
They promptly went 5-5 the next season and their arch nemesis destroyed them 55-17.
They followed up 2020 by going 6-7 in 2021.
Has any fanbase ever plummeted as far as LSU’s did from January 13th, 2020 to December 5th, 2020?
Almost five years later the pain is still fresh for fans like SEC Doctor.

That was the year with seats full of cardboard cutouts, right?
What a silly season. Most sports had the good sense to just cancel entirely and not blow money on all those scrimmages.

We got back to normal in 2021.
And LSU went 6-7.
From the top of the mountain to the bottom with a loud splat.

I had always thought LSU was better than that....looking at this list, and there lack of performance in home openers, I have a clearer picture of that mediocre program now....still learning SEC history.
Mizzou brought excellence with them to the SEC....facts are facts fckers...

Technically LSU has had 11 10-win seasons since 2005. LSU finished the 2012 and 2013 seasons with 10 wins each. They weren't vacated until 2023.
