Now show us the starters each year. Especially the blue collar positions.
Oh Jesus Christ. Just accept you are wrong. Most of the team is from out of state.
Including:
Starting RB, backup RBs
3 OL
Bowers
Washington
Starting corner
Best player on defense (Carter)
Starting MLB
Starting OLB
Well over half starters are from out of state

Coaches are a factor, but very small for a state like GA.

Ah yes. Because I distinctly remember UGA winning multiple championships before Smart arrived.

That's why the powers that be at UGa got Kirby a jet.

You underestimate Monken.
And the brain trust Smart/Schumann/Muschamp.
Elite.
Monken got robbed on the Broyles award for the 2nd year in a row.

It also helps that Mark Richt built a very good program that Kirby then took to the next level. Saban and Heupel inherited pure dumpster fires. I’m not saying that to take away from Kirby, he’s a great coach. Always had a lot of respect for Mark Richt

Mark Richt did lay down a solid foundation.

If GEORGIA Tech and Georgia State merged they could put up a football team to battle UGA

I love how "Kirby Can Recruit but he can't coach" quickly pivots to "Coaching doesn't matter and UGA recruits itself" after Kirby gets two natties.
You people.
You people.

The real reason why UGA has had a big advantage in the SEC is only in a small part because of Smart. Compare this with any state before talking about the coach at any SEC school:
1. Numerous HS recruits within the state.
2. Large population of the State
3. Competitive athletic High Schools within large metropolitan schools. Not always the case in bigger schools in some states.
4. Many Large HS within the state.
5. Majority of University enrollment are in-state students. Easy to have good athletes to stay in state with other enrollment.
6. Large number of HS coaches within the state of the most recruits support the home University.
If it has very little to do with Smart, why didn't we win much sooner? Those advantages have been evident for awhile but we never won before...well #1980.

Georgia high school recruits are also the kind of players where games are won...linemen and linebackers. Loads of skill players in Texas...can't find a lineman in the state.

1. Population of GA became increased with a minority number.
2. GT gave up football
3. AU, Clemson, TN and other out of state schools started to slip in football (check AU BB rosters).
4. In state enrollment at UGA is about 97%.
5. Kirby followed Saban with how his program is run, now NIL is a big factor.

For sure. Georgia's got the beef. Louisiana's got the speed.

As soon as GA flipped blue they got good at football. I wonder what the poli board thinks about this.

I read that and my take away is:
UGA has the best preferred walk on and walk on program in the country.
All of this post supports it.

That happened long before Kirby too over.

They've not really been "bad" except for the past 5 years.

But Alabama is going bonkers....

4. In state enrollment at UGA is about 97%.
Due to the Hope, I would think and that has been around for quite awhile. But why would that affect football?

Yes this is why Richt was fired for winning 9-10 games every season. There’s no excuse for not bringing in elite in state a talent and winning multiple national championships.

People need to see what has changed the last 3-5 years. Again, the shift in the population is really a recent event. The NIL made it hard for schools who used to get their recruits paying players under the table with what today is a small amount. Richt was an honest type coach with paying players under the table. Smart didn't have to play that game the last two-three years. Everything has changed the last two years.

The state of Beorgia is much more too heavy with too 150 recruits next year and I think you’ll see UGA take many of those.

but location of the great HS to UGA is the biggest factor. See how it was for UGA in the past
Richt had the same advantages but went w/out a SECC for 10 years and was routinely out recruited by Bama,LSU and
Florida the 2nd half of his tenure.
