Like I stated on the MSB last week. Ohioans are the central Americans of the USA. They'll crawl over broken glass to get out of Ohio but then won't shutup about how great it is.

These claims always kill me.

Inevitably, it’s a statement being made by someone who doesn’t have that money, and can’t get their head around the difference between having money and making money. California liberals are the worst about it.

It’s like back when I was traveling internationally a lot and always preferred Asia to Europe. One was development-minded and the other was stasis-minded.

Born on 3rd base and think they hit a triple.

There’s literally no way to parse OSU the school from the state of Ohio. JD Vance is the biggest OSU supporter in politics. He doesn’t seem to care if the school was ever “left leaning liberal”. So try harder

Went to their rosters and did some counting. The rosters don't state where they are on the depth chart, but here's a look at players from hometowns in the former Confederacy on a few of those teams.

Apparently they are looking at the South but they aren't laughing, they're getting out their checkbooks.

tOSU = 24/123
Penn State = 27/120
Michigan = 33/139
Indiana = 45/114
Michigan State = 30/118
Wisc = 20/119

What oath are you referring to

Oath sworn by all senators

quote:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Oath sworn by all commissioned officers

quote:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

As all lead confederate generals and politicians served in these capacities, they directly forsook vows they took to their country

quote:

what principle of freedom

Declaration of Independence outlines that pretty well

Slavery is antithetical to American values, as Benjamin Franklin observed when he lobbied for its abolition toward the end of his life during the18th century.

They wanted slavery to continue because their profits relied on the peculiar institution. In the name of profit and slavery, they convinced thousands of poor white field hands the war was about "state's rights" so they'd fight for this cause.

If the primary reason to fight the civil war was to end slavery in the south, as you state, then why were there 451,021 slaves counted in the 1860 census in states and territories that would make up the Union during the Civil War?

Because while border states did not formally secede, they were split internally by confederate and union sympathizers. Missouri amd Kentucky had two governments, and this exact issue is how West Virginia became a state.

Year - Champion - Conference
2024 - Ohio State - Big 10
2023 - Michigan - Big 10

2022 - Georgia - SEC
2021 - Georgia - SEC
2020 - Alabama - SEC
2019 - LSU - SEC
2018 - Clemson - ACC
2017 - Alabama - SEC
2016 - Clemson - ACC
2015 - Alabama - SEC
2014 - Ohio State - Big 10
2013 - Florida State - ACC

2012 - Alabama - SEC
2011 - Alabama - SEC
2010 - Auburn - SEC
2009 - Alabama - SEC
2008 - Florida - SEC
2007 - LSU - SEC
2006 - Florida - SEC
2005 - Texas - Big 12
2004 - Southern Cal - Pac 12

This is the 3rd time in the last 20 seasons that they have gone consecutive seasons without an SEC champion. After Texas' 2005 season win, the SEC won 7 in a row. After Ohio State's 2014 win, the SEC won 8 in a row. If the pattern holds, we'll see back-to-back seasons without an SEC champion again after the 2033 season.

If the pattern holds . . .

Predicting future events based on past experience is always tempting and there is some validity to the process assuming little to no change in all relevant factors.

Ask any fan of college football if the landscape of 2025 resembles what they saw as recently as 2 seasons ago.

So much for those predictions.

The north has a “cookout” with hotdogs and hamburgers. But they barbecue just like anyone else. Brisket, grilled chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork, etc

The south is just so “racist”, but the minorities refuse to leave. Why is that?

I'm from the Midwest, and there's a sharp, truly a sharp, chasm between black and white. Not so much in the south to my surprise.
