There is nothing depressing about it. They are beatable every year, it is just extremely tough because they are very well coached. Every team has strengths and weaknesses. Next year's team won't be the same as this year's.
What makes it so depressing if it you beat Nick once during your game it doesn't matter. He will still win every other game and then win a national title that year.
Happened to LSU.
Happened to A&M.
Happened to Ole Miss.
Beating Nick in your game isn't enough, you have to beat his process. And the only guy who can maybe do that coaches in Ohio.
I much prefer the Clayton Williams strategy of dealing with Bama's dynasty.

Let me tell you from an Alabama perspective.
I started watching football in the early 70's. I didn't see the 60's but I heard about how dominant we had been. I heard about the first Rose Bowl team not from the Big10 or Pac coast, etc.
Well, according to the pundits all that shite was over.
We were about to go to Los Angeles and face number one USC. We had zero, ZERO chance of even being around at halftime. Well, we won. Beat a team that would be dominant in 1972. In 71, we Went on to play for the national championship.
It kept going, 1977 we had games against USC, Washington and Nebraska. All top 10. We beat all but Nebraska who we demolished in 1978. We beat a Penn state team in the Sugar Bowl that many said was the best team ever assembled. We won like 108 games and 8 conference titles that decade. early 90's we go from Sept 91 to Nov 93 without losing. Now this run.
Point being, what did people expect? That we would suck forever? We have a ton of millenials on this board who have no idea about anything before they were born. Don't want to know. Don't care.
We're good. We've always been good except for those few probation years when the posters on here started watching football. That was not Bama, this is.
There was never one doubt in our minds that we would be back and be back by Bama standards. We're not over the moon about this season because we knew it would happen. We told ya'll it would. People always say, in the 70;s too, oh, not this year, they lost too much. Yea right. We replace people with BETTER people. Nothing lasts forever but Bama will not be down more than a few years at a time. Some schools go 50 years, 75 years between titles. Some don't win them at all. You will never see Bama go through a drought like that.
I hear we'll suck when Saban retires. Uh-huh. Nah, no we wont. Football championships are what we do. Check out your history.

I don't think Bama will outright suck, but they will fall off for sure. This kind of dynasty won't last. frick it can't last, it would kill the sport.

I have never understood how someone just decides to like a team or root for one.

What can I say, unlike every other SEC team their winning helps my team and doesn't really hurt my team (beyond one guaranteed loss a year out of a dozen games).

Funny thing. Both of those whack jobs lived in the Auburn area. As did the baby signing couple. Must be something in the water.
You definitely get in ahead of them.

It's the truth.
Does Bama winning another national title really hurt my team? No, not really.
I mean, they can't recruit any better. And it doesn't make their brand any more appealing than the last national title. And it just makes the expectations that will crush the next Bama coach that much larger.
Compare that to say Texas winning a national title. They won ONE back in the 2000's and still over ten years later they can out recruit my program even after they have shite seasons due to the fact that young players in Texas still remember and identify with that national title winning team. Hell it would be even worse if someone like a TCU won a modern national title and had something to sell over my team even after their once-in-a-lifetime coach is gone.
If Bama or some yankee team could win every national title until my team has a coach that could win them than that would be great.

Hint: Most of the bandwagon fans are in Alabama. See the cuck OP for an example.
