The ball barely touching the ground doesn’t make it an incomplete pass. The ball was clearly being braced by both of his arms and moved when his left elbow hit the ground. The ball was still under control at that moment and moved with his arm, not because the ball touched the ground. The ball was fully possessed at the time of your screenshot. Go watch the replay
I’m not going to insult your intelligence by accusing you of actually believing what you just posted.
I know we’re all homers here for our team, but have some dignity. You look like a complete arse with your absurd mental gymnastics on this one.

It was late in the 2nd quarter of the SEC Championship game. Bama had a 10-7 lead and was facing 4th-and-4 from the Georgia 37 with over a minute and a half left in the first half. Milroe threw a pass to Isaiah Bond. This was the result…
The call on the field was complete pass and 1st down Alabama. Inexplicably the play was not reviewed. Two plays later, Alabama scores a touch to take a 17-7 lead into the half. Had the play been reviewed, the booth would have seen the ball hit the ground and assisted the receiver in gaining possession of the ball, thus it was a textbook example of an incomplete pass. Georgia would have had the ball on its own 37 yard line 1st & 10 with about 1:25 on the clock to work with.
But they never got that chance. Instead the touchdown that resulted two plays later helped Alabama win the game by 3 points. The playoff committee used this win to throw Georgia out of the top four, along with undefeated ACC Champion Florida State, and replace them both with Alabama and Texas. The CFP fates of four teams were decided by this blown call all because a routine play that in another game involving any other team would be reviewed as SOP. But not on the SEC when Alabama is playing.
UGA could have stopped Alabama after that catch, but they didn't.
UGA had the the entire 2nd half to catch up and whup Alabama's arse, but they didn't.
End of Story.

True.
But if the 4th down was called correctly, the Dawgs did stop Bama from scoring.

I’ll do better than that. I’ll give you a Twitter link that both shows the replay where you can clearly see the ball hit the ground and move while on the ground. The video also shows CBS rules analyst Gene Steratore pointing out that it’s an incomplete pass…

His conclusion…

How did you enjoy the game yesterday my friend?

While I agree the play should've at least been reviewed, and there's an argument it would've been overturned, this is not the play that screwed UGA. The sack and false start that led to the long kick that hit the upright followed by a fumble inside the 20 screwed UGA. In a game we didn't execute very well we essentially spotted them 6 and still only lost by 3. Bama played a mistake free game and UGA didn't and that was the difference.

Auburn fan dickriding UGA.
What a time we’re living in.

Here's why UGA lost to Alabama:
- missed FG (Bama's didn't miss) - get a better kicker than Bama's
- lose fumble at own 17 (Bama didn't lose fumble at own 17) - protect the ball better than Bama
- only 78 yds rushing (UGA's bread and butter stopped) - Bama outrushed UGA - get better blockers than Bama
Stop blaming refs and look at UGA's shortcomings in that game.

Yeah.
A team can't afford costly mistakes when facing Bama.
Michigan got away with them, though (muffed punt, missed field goal, bad snap on the extra point).
Any given Saturday.

It’s kind of amazing how bad replay is at even finding the right plays to review.

There were dozens of plays on both sides where a different call or different small change could have resulted in a UGA win.
That's football though. Cherry picking plays is pointless. UGA didn't play well enough to make those small things not matter. It was an off day for UGA and it cost them a playoff spot.
shite happens. UGA will get another playoff chance next season and most years going forward. the reality is that UGA would have made a 12 team playoff every season since Smart came to UGA other than his first. They're going to be in the playoff most years going forward.
It sucks UGA had an off day in an elimination game, but it's what happened. They didn't deserve a playoff spot this season. They will most seasons going forward.
