Missouri is actually the best addition to the SEC since Georgia Tech and "The University of the South" left.

Great history and very huge potential.

A true Sleeping Giant.

Slive knew what he was doing.

I live 30 minutes from the University of Missouiri and this is still a St. Louis Cardinals state. They cared about the Rams when they were winning but don't miss them. They cheer for Mizzou but the Cardinals are king.

I do think that since joining the SEC there is more of a Mizzou presence in the state but they don't have a great history in football and no natural rival. The Mizzou fans are laid back and don't give me grief for wearing LSU stuff in Columbia. They truly are mostly bandwagon fans and will get excited when their team is winning.

How did you end up there? I can't imagine
it being a hot bed of industry.

Job related move but I do like it here. Originally from Louisiana but the weather here is much better although the food is not.

Definitely no industry where I live, although we are surrounded by soy beans and corn out here which is great for deer hunting. My job actually is nearer to St. Louis but we are in the middle of nothing and enjoy the peace and quiet.

There are no TV's in West Virginia. Expansion is about TV markets, nothing else.

I think Mizzou fans would be happier in the SEC if their rivalry with kU was resurrected. Their programs overall would be more competitive if that anchor was in place. They’re floundering because they don’t have that motivation to beat their rival, and the fear of losing to them.

I have to come here often for work (U of M is one of my customers).

And seriously, Columbia might be the best city in Missouri to live in.

You're right, not a lot of jobs compared to the other bigger cities but if you can find a way to make a living, this is a decent place to live.

See, now here's the funny thing about this intended joke of yours.

The SEC is not paying you any share of the Bowl revenue money this year because you're on probation.

Plus you're being penalized millions by the SEC for various other infractions.

Y'all will be lucky to break even this year.

God bless your little hearts.

Slive was simply grabbing the St. Louis TV market. Nothing more. It was all about increasing media market share.
