Good luck! My wife and I hunted yesterday afternoon and saw several deer. 10 point came within 30 yards but I had no shot. Another buck was staring at me from the backside of the pond as I walked to my truck this morning.
Seeing bucks on the move everywhere in our area.

What do you want the watch to do?
Simply keep time?
Luminous hands?
Light to view in the dark?
Track physical activities?
GPS?
Sync to phone?
Self-winding?
That will help decide what watch or watches would be good for you.

re: Bug out (SHTF) bag

We keep a trauma and first aid kit in our vehicles along with a “get home” bag.
- Flashlight
- Fire starters
- Matches and lighter
- Granola bars / chocolate bars
- Rain ponchos
- Emergency blanket
- In the winter we carry a heavy blanket and / or a large waterproof coat in each vehicle
- 9mm of some variety with extra mags
This is to get us home in case of bad weather, riots, road closures, etc. Can’t be 100% sure but if there is a complete meltdown of society, SHTF or WORL, I would probably already be home. Just don’t see that sneaking up on me.
Not bugging out anywhere except home. Have enough acreage and food to live a while, spring fed pond (2 acres), 1 neighbor within a 1/2 mile and the next 2 miles away.

re: LA Bowhunter Pod- Wise Eye Cameras
Posted by SpookeyTiger on 10/19/25 at 4:18 pm to SenseiBuddy
Not trying to slam any other cameras but I currently have some Moultrie Edge 2 cameras in my woods and get 90% false triggers over pictures of deer, raccoons, coyotes, etc. I have them set to avoid this but it hasn’t helped so far.
I hunt woods and not fields so my cameras have to be in the woods and yes, branches move with the wind. How are the Wise Eye cameras at filtering out the “nothing” pictures?
Thanks,

Way too hot at 80 right now.
16’ ladder stand in a bunch of cedars with lots of rubs and a significant game trail.
Matthews NoCam with Rage Traypans
Actually shot 2 does this morning and hoping for more this afternoon.
My wife is in a stand about 150 yards east of me.
Good luck if anyone is out this afternoon!

Bought a Crimson Trace Brushline 4-2x40 rimfire for my Marlin 25N from Midway USA. It is close so I drove out and picked it up this afternoon.
Installed it this evening and hope to sight it in tomorrow. Want better rings than the 35 year old ones it had on it.

Leather Blackhawk OWB holster holding my .38 with alternating solids and rat shot. Sometimes it is openly showing and sometimes it isn’t, but on my property, I don’t care.
re: What does the OB think of the Beretta 92FS?

Love mine! Bought in 1995 as the 10th anniversary US Military sidearm with gold logos of the military branches. Have shot thousands of rounds through it with zero issues. One of my wife’s favorite firearms.

Yes, it most definitely will. Headshots if at all possible though.

Just interested in seeing what everyone's set up with rifle, scope, ammo and experiences with different things are. Tips, fun things to try, ect would be appreciated. I'm not going to strap myself with a budget because I'm just trying to gain knowledge about it. Ideally, I'd like to have whatever is considered "decent" groups at 50 to 100 yard distances with another rifle of course
Took a 10/22 and did the following:
Ruger BX trigger
Kidd heavy, 16” barrel
Boyds AT One thumb hole stock
Harris bipod
Area 419 base
Vortex Strike Eagle 5x25
It shoots better than I can. So far it likes SK Pistol Match ammo the best and easily does 5 shot groups of all touching.
Have run the KYL target once at 50 yards and can pretty consistently run through the 3/4” gong at 50 yards. The last two are a different story.
I am not heavily into precision rimfire, not running a chronograph or Kestral or ballistics app. No problem with guys that do, but I just wanted a semi- precision, fun, plinking .22 that would reach out consistently and accurately.

Have the CMMG Banshee that takes M17 mags and it has run flawlessly. Never had any feeding or functioning issues. Run it suppressed with a light and green dot on top.
re: Anyone use Picaridin instead of deet?

I use it some but if working in the woods extensively or out in the field, I use Deet. Not worried about the smell or it being greasy.

We have both and then some.
365 XL on my nightstand
Mossberg 20 Turkey Thug in my wife’s side
CMMG Banshee MK17 suppressed in the closet
M17 in the kitchen safe with 5 extra mags that also work in the Banshee
Forgot to add that my nearest neighbor is a half mile away and they only come out on weekends so over penetration is not an issue. No kids in the house either.

Glad you had a good experience with them. I have purchased 3 from them and the first experience was ok but they were not the best at communicating. Second experience was terrible and again due to their lack of communication. Will never purchase from them again.
Personally, I feel that they grew too fast and just got overwhelmed when I was purchasing my last two. Sounds like they have it under control and I am happy for them and others having a good experience.
