OU will have their best team in 30 years because of a “joining the SEC” recruiting bump and then subsequently go 8-4 in their first two seasons.
8-4 is a successful year at ATM. You act as though it’s a bad thing.

At least CU is a P5 school and it was on the road, OU needed the officials to bail them out to beat a G5 team at home.
A&M also has to play an SECW schedule with Arkie, at LSU, Auburn, State, at Ole Miss, and of course Bama. Get USC and at Mizzou from the East.
OU plays no one. Iowa State is terrible and should be 0-2. Texas, lol. What else? KState?
A&M can go 11-1 and be on the outside looking in with a schedule 10x harder than OU. You will find out soon enough though, don't worry.
We would push your shite in like we always have. I’m not sold that we are a playoff team, but we would track meet your 2005 offense. Jimbo would be adjusting his glasses all day.
We went in dry on you last time we played, Johnny Football and Mike Evans were just nasty before we pulled them out as a kindness. Sorry but the Fran era is long gone in Aggieland.
If Tulane can contain your offense I think A&M will be just fine, your QB would be lucky to still be able to stand after the 1st Half against out D. You simply don't play anyone with a true physical defense and your WR's are used to having 5 yards of space to catch the ball in your 7 on 7 league.

And wait until that finally sinks in for them
This year is an anomaly partially because our marquee non-conference game is a down Nebraska.
We've had plenty of years where we have played plenty of ranked teams. In 2000, for example, we played 6 ranked teams including four in the top 10.

It’s a joke how easy some schedules are. Should not let it be rewarded by a playoff birth. Their OOC is horrible too to go along with a pathetic conference schedule
You can't control the fact that a team like Nebraska is down when the OOC games are scheduled many years in advance.

The Big XII sucks but Oklahoma has always scheduled big time OOC games. I don't blame them for their schedule this year.

I will also point out that our schedule getting easier the last ten years wasn't really our fault.
Teams like A&M and Nebraska tucked their tails and ran away because they were no longer competitive.
While neither were top tier Big 12 teams when they left, they did help schedule strength a bit.
Missouri was a wash. WVU and TCU are ever bit as competitive as Missouri. While issouri could sneak up once a decade and make a conference title game in a weaker north division (basically the same as they've done in the SEC), they were never truly a challenge.
Colorado was a far cry from their teams of the '90s so no loss there.
Anyway, the point is that schedule strength was pretty much out of our hands because a bunch of tier 2 Big 12 teams had a hissy fit and left.

As for playoff contenders, I don't think OU is on 'Bama or Georgia's level. It is early but I do think we very likely are a top 4 team - poor showing against Tulane aside. I agree that the schedule won't prove that.
All that said, I think OU has to go undefeated to make the playoffs. In any P5 conference going undefeated is tough for any team not named Alabama.
Look at A&M against Colorado. CU is no better than most Big 12 teams. A&M had a key injury and a bad day and almost lost.

We definitely don’t play anyone as dominant as Colorado! I’d be worried about the hogs if I were you. Your program has still not won shite, ever. Agreed with A&M being better than us the last time we played. A cotton bowl win is the high point of your program!!!

Sad day when Texas defends OU.
This is actually typical. Texas and OU have a weird relationship. They pretend to hate each other, but they sneak off and frick with regularity.
It's like a couple where one guy is a 135 pound gay asian man who wears glasses and a bolo, and the other is a 245 pound muscle bound physical specimen with a mullet, but the gay asian dude is the alpha and the big dude is a beta.

OU normally has a pretty good strength of schedule, if I am remembering correctly, but Nebraska is probably a pretty big drag.

As was mentioned, OOC schedules are difficult to measure, but OU has/had the following H&H agreements pre SEC move:
Ohio State
Georgia
Tennessee
LSU
Michigan
Alabama
Nebraska
Clemson
So OU is regularly scheduling OOC games with PLAYOFF programs.. in fact all of the past participants are represented there.

It will be the same as TCU. They were 13-0 and 11-2 the two years prior to joining the Big 12. They went 7-6 (4-6 in conference) and 4-9 their first two years in the Big 12.
They did get competitive in year 3 though.

A&M is a perineal loser program. Y’all barely beat a shite Colorado team last week and will finish with a minimum of 3 losses this year.
I’d be mad too, bud.

BIG XII teams don't have the luxury of being vaulted into the top 15 every time they start a season 2-0 like SEC teams do.

Lmfao!!!!! You are so right, we tucked tail from the mighty Big XII to play lesser teams and a much easier schedule in the SEC!!
You are a genius!!

You aren't helpin' the case here bro... I mean this could (and should) be said for us as well vis-a-vis our horrid playoff record. I don't blame them one bit for moving, it was the right thing for them to do at the time. IN fact if not for that MORON Boren, we would have done the same thing then.
