including a mid-rise hotel and Wendy’s.
Well, never mind.

It is about an hour from Greenwich, CT to NYC by train. If you have been there you would understand the comment between Oxford and Memphis. In the age of cars, an hour to 2 hour commute is no longer unusual. Unless things have changed radically in the past decade are you telling me rich folks in Memphis keep their kids home instead of sending them to Oxford?

Don’t let Vandy’s small numbers fool you. The footprint of the campus is large. It includes 4 on-campus hospitals and several commercial properties adjacent to the campus including a mid-rise hotel and Wendy’s. Vanderbilt also owes many other assets domestic and foreign including an elite golf course and an Observatory. Vandy is one of the largest employers in the State of Tennessee employing 22,000 employees.
Did not know that about Vanderbilt.
A&M is the largest employer in the state of Texas. That is nuts, but true.
Also the A&M campus had two airporst at one point in time. One (still on the main campus) and one in Bryan that was used during WWII to train pilots and that was a reserve air base until the 70s or so. Now that old airport part of campus houses the majority of the nuclear equipment owned by the university.

Been saying this on here for ages.
If you attend a sporting event it is employees and their families as most VU grads are employed around the globe.

Tuscaloosa was more fun back when the student body was < 20k and leaned on the side of more in state students. I know I know get off my lawn.

Give me Norman over
Raping whacko's in Waco
STD's and dust storms in Lubbock
autistic window lickers in austin
Give me a local Waffle House and some fans who share their booze and I am good. Maybe I am just a country mouse at heart.

I get it
Same at most ACC and SEC schools historically
What Alabama has been getting this past generation is the kids of politically connected folks from all over the country. Lots of new Bama grads had parents from other schools.
If you are old, at least you know how to make that lawn look good.
I salute you for that.

Oklahoma and South Carolina surprise me.
If you look at population of each state OM and MSU are actually impressive because we are the least populated SEC state

Georgia enrollment is over 40,000. 30,166 undergrads and 9,952 grad students. Almost half the undergrads had a core high school GPA of 4.00 or more.

Our laboratories and facilities are second to none, and we are widely recognized as one of the best-equipped nuclear engineering programs in the country. We are one of only three university nuclear engineering departments in the United States with access to two nuclear reactors for teaching and research: a 1-megawatt reactor operated by the Texas Engineering Experiment Station's Nuclear Engineering and Science Center and a five-watt AGN-201M reactor operated by our department.

I am old and historically I drove or took a train.
Get to see a whole lot more of the reality and a whole lot less of what folks who just have Google get to see.
Humans have 5 basic senses ands they really need to use all 5
Baylor and BYU have similar fans and both have a creepy vibe once you get past the smiling faces. Should have taken TCU or Rice to the B12 before Baylor.
