The trendy Chicago neighborhoods and its northern and western suburbs say hold my beer. Think of Marcy Rhodes types.

Unless they’re couching the 400 corridor (Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton) as Atlanta because those places do suck

I've lived in one of those towns off of Georgia 400 and it hardly sucks. We've got our only niche outside of the city but I can be in Buckhead or Midtown in no time. A lot of transplants here and some are a bit pretentious, but overall a great place to raise a family.

FWIW, I lived in the N. Druid Hills area.

I lived in the DFW area for 3 years and in San Angelo for 2 years prior to that. No only is TX so snobby, it has the ability to make you feel like you're not good enough when in reality they are some of the most stuck up conceded A$$holes I have ever met.

I grew up on the border of OK and TX. They are the biggest a$$holes on the planet. I love the state though

Downtown chas, Mt. Pleasant, and the barrier islands are full of horrid people. Old money downtown and the others full of yankee money.
Joe Riley started his assault on the good native Sandlappers/Charlestonians in the late 70s/early 80s - he property taxed everyone out of the Peninsula so the yankee $$$ could become NYC's 6th Burough -

the worst thing ever for the entire Lowcountry was the frickin 2012 PGA at Kiawah - it & Seabrook are an abomination unto themselves with their 'residents' - all the CT MA NJ NY PA assholes who could sell their overpriced RE up North and buy more "Down South" came in droves after the publicity the tournament created - Dr Alex Sanders' summation of HHI became instantly applicable to Charleston -

Darling Nikki's pet project Boeing's arrival brought the PNW trash culture and illness -

we are LONG OVERDUE for a yankee man reconstruction and expulsion of the sickness that has invaded - with survival camps out in Huger to the North and Green Pond to the West - let these carpetbaggers find out first hand exactly what SC is all about beyond their air conditioning and mimosas - if they live they might can stay -

It’s a beautiful city but that sounds dreadful.

I'll get downvoted for this, but Charleston is an overrated place to live, specifically because of the people. It's the same attitude people in Manhattan have, that life doesn't exist or matter outside of the peninsula. I used to like going there while in college to visit friends at CofC. It still had its sketchy parts and was relatively inexpensive to party in certain places. Now everything is overpriced and the city is filled with tons of insane progressives or people who are cosplaying some kind of Gone with the Wind fantasy. Give me an evening on Front Street in Georgetown or a seafood supper at T.W. Graham's in McClellanville any day of the week.

Tampa has more residents from New York in it than it does from Florida. I’ve been living here for 3 years and have met 5x more people that are originally from NY than are born and raised from Florida.

I lived in Charleston for a year about 20 years ago. I really enjoyed it but there was definitely a “well are you from here?”
vibe to it. Kind of made me laugh and rolled with it.

Sorry. I live 20 minutes south of there and have gone up there to work for many years, concerts, sports events, World of Coca-Cola, CFB HOF, Aquarium.....Now, I've never been to Detroit, but my idea of Detroit is a lot of industrial waste, smog etc. I don't see that in Atlanta as a whole. How many times have you been to Atlanta?

Like I said, there is a lot to dislike about Atlanta, but comparing it to Detroit is way off base.
