Cecil would still be arrested for solicitation (as well as Cam), if the chick agreed to testify to that fact. Oh BTW, she already did.
Cam wouldn't be arrested if he had no knowledge of his dad's solicitation of chick 1 and if the fat chick never paid dad or Cam.

The best part of Low's article.

An agreement is an arrangement that is accepted by all parties to a transaction.

Is it your contention that MSU accepted Cecil and Kenny's proposed arrangement?

Only thing I can figure (if there was no money involved anywhere, and I have no idea) is that Cecil was afraid that by even asking about $$$ from MSU it would do one of three things:
A) Make Cam ineligible to play there if they reported it to the SEC/NCAA like they may have told him they would have to do

B) Even if nothing was ever reported, it would have put Cam in a bad spot with the staff at MSU and so he would be going there was a strike or two already against him. If he already had questionable ethics while at Florida, and Mullen knew that, maybe asking for the $$$ would cast him in the same light there and the attitude would be "here he goes again" and by going to AU with a clean slate he wouldn't have that baggage with the coaches.

C) He honestly thought that Auburn would be a better showcase for Cam's talent.

If I go into a bank and pass a note to a teller which states that this is a hold up give me your money and she says "sory I have no money ", and I say ok, and walk out the back door I'm a bank robber under the law. Mr Nuton is a bank robber, and Cam is also a bank robber because he was driver of the getaway car.

there is no current hard evidence.....Cam plays.

make no mistake, he was bought and paid for and to think otherwise is naive.

in the end, the NCAA reserves the right to righteously vacate Auburn's season indefinitely. sleezy if you ask me.

Unilateral contracts are made every day. You can agree to the terms of a contract before anyone accepts it.

That's what makes it even better. Bammers Will do ANYTHING to say auburn isn't deserving of this title. When we win it, I'm just gonna sit back, spark up a fatty, and laugh.

FYI - It ain't just us Bammers that think Auburn (with Newton) is undeserving. A large part of the entire fricking college football world feels the same way.

The court of public opinion has made its ruling. Can't appeal that shite

This. The NCAA can spin all they want but common sense dictates otherwise. A parent clearly represents their child unless legally defined otherwise. Cecil violated NCAA rules in marketing his son. To me, whether Cam knew about the specific solicitation is irrelevant; he certainly knew that his father was representing him. If he did not trust his father to do the right thing then he should have taken legal steps to sever the relationship. Yes, this puts the student athlete in a tough situation with potentially disreputable parents but the alternative as in this case is a parent marketing their student athlete to the highest bidder with impunity.

For the most part, only the Auburn contigent believes them to be worthy (ethically speaking).

This only makes the SEC look worse.....

An acceptance was not necessary
quote:

Solicitation - Law
a. the crime of asking another to commit or to aid in a crime

Paying for amateur athletes is a violation of the rules (a crime, as it were). Asking for that payment is a solicitation by law. And whether it was agreed that Cam was never getting one peeny, is not an issue. Had MSU paid, no one could possibly have known how the money would be divided.

Cecil asked for cash, and was clearly able to deliver a product (Cam). Non-acceptance does not free Cam of his "crime"

But if you don’t reside in that 334 area code, it’s a season that will forever have an asterisk attached to it.

Oh no! An irrelevant journalist wants to put an asterisk next to us! What will we do?

Also, I don't live in the 334 area code.

This will just be a convenient way for bammers to ignore the championship if Auburn wins it.

Nope. The NCAA will do that within 6-10 months.

I'm gonna sit back, spark up a fatty, and then burn toomers drug store to the ground to make way for an amusement park on the area that once housed a university so corrupt it was dismantled.

Ok, so if a pimp (Cecil) solicts a john (MSU Boosters) to have sex with his son (Cam), without the sons knowledge, and the john says no; then, the son has sex with a different chick (AU) who does not pay the pimp or his son, then a court of law will convict the son and the other chick

Doesn't matter if the John says no. If the whore was living in the pimp's whorehouse or the pimp was paying the living expenses of the whore and then the whore said I didn't know anything about it they would both go down.

Cam wasn't a minor, he was an adult and he met Kenny Rogers on a recruiting trip. The same recruiting trip where Cecil was asking for money. To say he didn't know what was going on is bullshite.

"Rogers defended himself by saying he handled Newton “like any other kid” during the recruiting process.

“When I see a name go across a screen, I try to get in touch with that kid to see if he has any opportunities, see if I can help him and that’s pretty much … that’s it,” Rogers said. “That’s how I do things with the kids.”
