Unilateral contracts are made every day. You can agree to the terms of a contract before anyone accepts it.

Ahhhh... so now you've morphed the argument from "agreement" to "unilateral contract".

Does the SEC statute address unilateral contracts?

Paying for amateur athletes is a violation of the rules (a crime, as it were). Asking for that payment is a solicitation by law. And whether it was agreed that Cam was never getting one peeny, is not an issue. Had MSU paid, no one could possibly have known how the money would be divided.

The SEC statute that was directly quoted required AGREEMENT, a-hole.

See... the thing about this whole Cam affair is you guys will quote some rule that was "violated", be shown that it was no violation, and then morph it to something else and claim YET AGAIN it was violated.

You will continue to fish and fish and fish until you pull yet another turd out of the river yet you will call it a prize bass.

Don't stop believin', brother. Keep the faith!

Cecil agreed to accept money for the promise he would deliver Cam to MSU.

You seem to want conveniently ignore the key word "they" in your description above.

"THEY had an AGREEMENT..."

Bottom line is that no matter what the NCAA rules the court of public opinion is what matters the most.

The "court of public opinion" elected Jimmy fricking Carter in 1976.

If you are depending on the good will and wisdom of the court of fricking public opinion, you are an utter moron.

SC is going to have Cam's AU cleat marks all over their chests tomorrow. AU will be pumped for the game and the SEC will have an undefeated team going to the NCG (could be a 5th SEC national champ in a row, involving 4 schools too). SC is in big trouble tomorrow! As the 5th team in the SEC, what bowl do you think SC will go to? What say you?

the thing about this whole Cam affair is

that Chris Low is 100% spot on..that this season by Auburn will forever be tainted, be stamped with an asterick, have a certain unhealthy smell to it etc.... hey, take your pick but it will never ever be respected outside Toomer's Corner.

It is what it is.

Ah, further proof that denial is more than a river in Egypt. I hope you enjoy that 0-14 when the hammer falls, dickwad.

the thing I'm not seeing anyone say is that the NCAA came out and said that Cecil Newton violated a bylaw of the NCAA but they are not punishing Cam.

It's not a question of is there was an infraction because they said there was an infraction by Cecil and Mr. Rogers but the problem people have with it is that there is no punishment for the infraction which is total BS
