re: Coach Miles is all class!!

Posted by TIsuGGER on 2/2/12 at 1:41 am
Everybody I have talked to, to a man does not understand why Miles is so out of touch with reality. Here's a perfect example:
quote:

That being said, I really think in all phases for the first time that I can remember, our special teams gave up a long punt return. Certainly in that game, it needed not to happen. I think our defense gave up a lot of third down conversions which they were tremendous in the red zone and tight zone. They were tremendous on the course of the day, but certainly they could play better on those third down conversions.

Does Miles really think that holding Bama to zero punt return yards, or zero 3rd down conversions would have helped the LSU offense score? I mean seriously? He still doesn't get the fact that you have to score MORE points than the opponent to win, not just hold them to less points than you have.

At some point you have to score to win
quote:

Because you hate the reality of my posts in this thread.

Wow. Delusional much?

Wrong on JJ
Wrong on Lee
Wrong on Miles
Wrong on Brady
Wrong on Weis

Time to move on to another thread
quote:

Or maybe you are referencing their chump Offensive Coordinator, Charlie Weis?

Wrong yet again
quote:

1990 New York Giants (assistant)
1991–1992 New York Giants (RB)
1993–1994 New England Patriots (TE)
1995 New England Patriots (RB)
1996 New England Patriots (WR)
1997–1999 New York Jets (OC)

quote:

No. I'm being accurate.

'JJ is our best option' - Roaad

'JJ is better than Lee' - Roaad

'JJ is as good as Flynn. I have stats to back that up' - Roaad

That kind of accurate?
quote:

You're being obtuse

And he's trying to dig himself out of another hole in regards to his lack of QB knowledge. Never forget, JJ gave us our best option to win (even over Mett) - Roaad
quote:

So NFL coaches are worse at evaluating QB's?

Everyone is laughing at you, champ

The OP referenced college. Mett is still in college.

Brady was a rookie under Bledsoe. Not in is 3rd year, as is Mett
quote:

Brady sat behind Bledsoe his first year in New England.

Guess he wasn't any better than Drew. . .oh wait.

You have clearly demonstrated that you have little knowledge about QBs. The OP referenced college, not the pros. Please re-read, and quit embarassing yourself
quote:

I was actually referencing Bledsoe/Brady.

Then you needed to leave this out of your OP, don't you think?
quote:

There is probably a guy on every college team in America that should be starting but the coach just "likes" the guy in front of him.

Nice try, though
quote:

Over Bledsoe?

Bledsoe went to Michigan?
quote:

So, Mett isn't gonna be good?

He didn't beat out either Lee or JJ. Blackwell said he was goofy and immature

:dunno:

Will Mett be a one-and-done?

When has LSU ever had a QB leave early for the draft?

And how did that work out?
quote:

Yeah because the guy on the bench is never as good as the starter........ "What" says Tom Brady

Love how people still trot out this myth. First, the other QB spent 5 years in the NFL (something JJ will not do). Then there's the fact that Brady started EVERY game
quote:

Before the opener, Carr made a decision: Brady would start; Henson would play the second quarter; at halftime the coaches would pick which one would finish the game. While this must have irritated Brady, he couldn't complain to his teammates, who had voted him captain. He couldn't complain to his parents, who had let him make his own decisions—including the one to stay at Michigan—and expected him to live with them. He could only compete.

Brady earned the second-half nod in four of the first five games, and Michigan won all five. Asked about the unusual platoon system, he endorsed it: "It's working great for us."

The Wolverines lost their next game, to Illinois, when the defense blew a 20-point second-half lead. But Carr had seen enough. Brady was his quarterback. Brady had vanquished Henson, but the two had also become friends.

Just face the facts that either Mett as good as advertised, or Miles is a terrible QB judge.

I've always thought the latter. Let's all hope that's the case. But it still doesn't make me feel better about <iles' influence on future QB decisions
quote:

OK, I lost track. Are we now talking about Gunner or Landon still?

quote:

Miles stated that the QB situation caused LSU to call more run plays in 2011, and he looks forward to being more balanced in 2012.

Miles says a lot of things

But by going from the 'successful' offensive in early 2011 to the 'conservative' offense when the BCS was on the line, should tell you were his mindest really is.

Several people have posted that he plays not to lose I think that is very, very accurate
quote:

Miles Passing Percentage at LSU
2011: 31% pass (13-1)
2010: 36% pass (11-2)
2009: 44% pass (9-4)
2008: 44% pass (8-5)
2007: 42% pass (12-2)
2006: 45% pass (11-2)
2005: 41% pass (11-2)

Miles Passing Percentage at OSU
2004: 25% pass (7-5)
2003: 40% pass (9-4)
2002: 50% pass (8-5)
2001: 49% pass (4-7)

This should tell you all you need to know. Early on, Miles ran a wide open scheme, even with talent less than what LSU had. Also, speaks to the amount of times he was probably trailing at OK St. Then he came to LSU with JR and Flynn, and still never reached OK. St percentages.

His last year at Ok St 25% passing. Yes, 25%.

Last year at LSU was 31%

He is VERY conservative. He wants to grind it out, and win it in the 4th. Crowton confirmed this. We also saw that philosophy in the BCS game

I don't expect very much to change, to be honest. At almost 60, Miles is pretty much set in his ways

It just amuses me that you and a few others are not. You amused me during the past couple seasons, but now you are just a guilty pleasure.

You are in a steady tailspin of a meltdown. Akin to watching a train wreck in super slo-mo.

I appreciate it, and you. Keep it going. . .

It took you until 2:30 in the morning, and this is the best you could come up with?

Robb is all up in your shite, as evidenced by you trying to make some point in your sig line. He's owned you from Day 1 on where we were headed with JJ, and yet you say he's a the train wreck

Dude, you supported the worst starting QB in LSU history. And tried to compare him to Flynn. Are you kidding me?

quote:

Weird, the site for the all star game doesn't show Jefferson. It shows Alex Tanney of Monmouth (IL) as the 3rd QB.

quote:

NORTH

QB Dominique Davis, East Carolina/Boston College

QB Bryant Moniz, Hawaii

QB Matt Blanchard, Wisconsin-Whitewater

quote:

SOUTH

QB Aaron Corp, Richmond/USC

QB Nathan Dick, Central Arkansas/Arkansas

QB Alex Tanney, Monmouth (IL)

Looks like they moved the Tanney kid to the North squad to replace the Hawaii QB. He broke a bone in Nov in a game. Must not be 100% yet. JJ seems to be a last minute addition. Everyone was supposed to have reported on the 23rd.

We understand that you are ashamed of having knighted for JJ. But posting graphics doesn't make us feel the same way about Lee.

You do get that, right? We are not embarassed by how Lee conducted himself this year. However, you have this

Who's degrading lee? You are a little too sensitive.

I didn't start this thread. I'm not out searching the Interwebs to find artcles about the kid. I just clicked on here to see Dunson insinuate that the writer was sarcastically targeting the kid. I pointed out that the article was also a slam on Miles' ability to judge QB talent. And as usual the JJ fans come in and try to slant the readers to a negative opinion of Lee. In fact, in my 1st post in this thread I didn't mention Lee.

Lee was more efficient than JJ this year. Lee was undefeated as a starter this year. Lee was invited to 2 All-star games this year. Lee was interviewed by 3 NFL teams this year.

Pardon me for thinking he was the better QB
