Back in that day, A&M may have been a lot of things...weird all male military school, middle of no where, cult... but one thing the junction boys were not is "pussies."

My Dad was Class of '58 and he was lifelong friends with many of the Junction Boys. Those guys were all serious badasses that could kick anyone's arse.
They were 9-0-1 in '56 but A&M was on probation and couldn't go to a Bowl. In '57 they were undefeated and ranked #1 with John David Crow in his Heisman year. Bear told the team before the Rice game he was leaving and A&M lost the last 2 games and the Gator Bowl.

Maybe, but you damn sure can't call them prodigies. Bear's lessons never carried over to Bama in such a way. At least I don't recall reading he took the Tide to the Greenville Auction as if they were all Django.
