There was no indication that she’d be a serviceable PK in CFB.
Also, she apparently got up and made a halftime speech to the team, bitching at them for being too quiet on the sideline and not cheering when they made a first down.

How many rookies/freshmen who have never set foot on the field in a real game get up and give halftime speeches?

She never played a down for Colorado. But she did kick for NMSU after transferring there.
For those wondering, she went 1/4 in PATs with two blocks and a miss.

I thought about bringing this up to the white knights but decided to pick my battles.

If this were a dude kicker doing the exact same thing we'd be calling him a clown and every other player on the roster would hate his guts.

I started the thread and it is definitely a stunt.

There's probably a guy on the men's soccer team who actually could have kicked off deep. Of course it was a publicity stunt. Otherwise, why get someone off the women's team instead of the men's? The fact that men's soccer is only a club level sport instead of part of the athletic department is irrelevant. There are no doubt guys on that soccer team with really strong legs who were All-State players in high school, and probably even kicked on their HS football team.

Some of those guys should demand an opportunity to try out and when they are denied, file a Title IX lawsuit.

Vanderbilt's Men's Soccer team is a club team, but Vandy did have a healthy Punter.

The kid getting robbed of a scholarship at a prestigious school like Vanderbilt because they want to give a spot on the team to someone who can't play his position 1/5th as well as he can for the sake publicity and virtue signalling, for starters.

It’s a lot like when they let the retarded kid come in and make a few goals and everyone cheers and is genuinely happy. The kid gets to live out their dream and it’s a heartwarming moment.

Except in this case it’s for a fully functional adult. It’s a make-believe moment that everyone has to pretend is real. It’s a headline for the day and gets shown in every replay cut-in and halftime show and all the sportscasters and media celebrate it. History has been made, bigots.

Exactly. It was nothing more than a forced stunt, but you’re immediately labeled a bigot if you have any reaction other than awe and praise

There's a god-tier youtube skit right there. Set up the kickoff commentary like a Make-A-Wish foundation event and have a girl come out and barely nudge the ball off the tee and have people go nuts.

Someone's gonna do it and get millions of views.

I thought this was a stunt of Biblical proportions. All the headlines for a kick to the 35 yard line. That young girl had no more business out there than I did. If you are an opposing coach you can't let one of your players hit her or there will be hell to pay if she gets hit and injured. I wonder if she is coming to Georgia on Saturday?

Vanderbilt is so PC I wonder if they should not just give up football? They aren't serious about it but that big check they get from the conference funds their programs that they do take more seriously like baseball.

Yes, and earlier I posted the link to their team page. And I literally said that in my post that you quoted. Being a club team is irrelevant.

100% chance most of those guys can kick better than she can.

Again, there are no doubt former high school ALL-State soccer players who probably kicked on their HS football teams. I'd bet money on it.

Why are people freaking out over a kicker? Thats barely even a football position.

Maybe one day Kentucky will have one miss a national championship-winning FG on the last play. Then you'll feel differently.

Perhaps I'm just late to the party and having a "we landed on the moon moment" but I just had a revelation from the Almighty Himself... I just realized that being truly woke means that you just do whatever TF you want based on on rhyme or reason..

Logic? frick U
Reason: Kiss my arse
Consequences: Hold my beer
Sound judgement: GFY

Basically go out and strive to be the dumbest MF walking on earth... I mean just be MYTHOLOGICALLY stupid!!!

With all of the crap going on today God should nuke this planet from orbit... It's the only way to be sure.
