I thought this was a stunt of Biblical proportions. All the headlines for a kick to the 35 yard line. That young girl had no more business out there than I did. If you are an opposing coach you can't let one of your players hit her or there will be hell to pay if she gets hit and injured. I wonder if she is coming to Georgia on Saturday?

Vanderbilt is so PC I wonder if they should not just give up football? They aren't serious about it but that big check they get from the conference funds their programs that they do take more seriously like baseball.

Ya there is no place for Women in football. Football is the epitome of testosterone driven manliness.

Women were not built for it nor equipped to deal with it.

IT IS OK THAT HE SEXES ARE DIFFERENT.

There is no such thing as different sexes. Sex is a social construct.

Im confused.....

I thought Colorado had a female kicker years ago. What is the historical angle on this one....SEC only?

She never played a down for Colorado. But she did kick for NMSU after transferring there.

Vandy's kicker was the first female to log a snap for a P5 team.

I have avoided all threads on this but what the heck. As a woman, there’s part of me saying why not- if they’re good enough what’s stopping a woman from playing. But I think that case would be presented better had she done something that was actually good. To me what she did was the equivalent of a walk on in basketball that the crowd cheers on in a blow out win. The walk on then is given the shot and they manage to simply hit the rim. I guess in a nutshell, I think there needs to be something more done than a squib kick to garner all the hoopla and touting as a monumental day for women in sports. But I’m smart enough to know that I could be wrong.

There is no men's soccer team at Vandy, they needed a kicker at the last second due to covid quarantine, the chick plays rugby

it was a weird thing done out of necessity and because she didn't have the leg to kick it properly they squibbed it

It was a sport oddity so it was newsworthy but outside of that I don't get what anyone is fussing about

Colorado girl dressed, but never played.

She did however dress and score a field goal while part of New Mexico's team.

Vandy girl was first to play at a P5 school.

I think the girl at Colorado never played. She ended up transferring and there were some accusations by her that she was mistreated.

Vandy had punters that were available.

oh..

i see how it will go, some day in the future.

a female kicker that was the first to log a snap for a P5 top 25.

then it will be the first to log a snap for a top 10 team during a night game.

then it will be the first to log a snap for a top 10 team on grass.

there will never be criteria that will be ignored for headlines.

How do you feel about the boys trying out for the girls teams? If only Merrit is if they are good enough, we should see this next year. That would be entertaining!!

Was it though? I mean surely they had someone on that team who could have hit a squib kick a couple of times. If she had the leg to get the ball near the goalline then I'd understand it, but pretty much any reasonably athletic person could have done what she did.

bingo, Jackie Robinson wasn't put a major league baseball field because he was a black man. Jackie Robinson was put on a major league baseball field because he was good at baseball.

As far as I can tell right now Sarah Fuller was put on the Vanderbilt football to kick a ball 30 yds because she is a female.

It's kinda like all the weird stats you hear if you watch a baseball game isn't it?

Any other player on that team could have kicked the ball the way she did. Just more SJW shite inching into society and destroying us. She will be hailed as some kind of HERO. Probably ESPN already working on a contract and we will have to listen to her forevvvuuhhh on Gameday. Kirk will introduce her in a sea of tears and we will have to listen to “how far we have come but how farrrrr we have to go”. Utter BS.
