Not “Most Deserving”. I get the heartbreak but the playoff was started for this reason. So that a weak conference champion would not get in over a better team. If you want to argue that the committee hasn’t done that in the past that’s fine but that’s on the past committee not doing their job not the current one doing theirs. If you want to go by who deserves it then they should have put criteria in there that dictates that.

If you are one of the best, you are inherently one of the most deserving

The playoff, like all things, was started to generate more revenue

A multi billion dollar sport with no clear path to a title. Criteria is undefined, subjective, and subject to change from year to year, so nobody can ever know exactly what the committee will look for in deciding playoff spots.

But somehow the big money brands consistently get in, while smaller brands don't.

Hmmm.

Michigan
Georgia
Texas

Washington and FS U deserve to be in but are not better.

And? Texas beat Houston by 7, TCU by 3, and needed a 4th and goal stop to beat KSU in OT.

FSU beat Boston College by 2, Miami by 7, and survived while looking putrid against UF (losing record) and Louisville (lost to KY and Pitt).

Every team has some warts, but FSU without their QB is not one of 4 best teams.

Shouldn't matter if it's really about the four best teams.

Look I can't stand Bama or Georgia but no one can convince me they shouldn't be in the top 4 and maybe they are the best two now.

The committee just said wins/losses don't matter otherwise FSU is in.

Is UGA better than Michigan and/or Washington?

If the exact same situation that happened to Florida State happened to you your fans would burn down a hospital

If Florida State somehow beats Georgia and they claim a national championship because of it I would not even contest it

Gumps lost to Texas by two scores.

Not a best team, period.

Imagine when you lose to them again...

Bama barely beats the Vandy of the west, Arkansas at home

Gets blown the frick out by Texas at home

Then needs a miracle and ref help to beat Auburn on last seconds of the game.

How can you possibly believe Bama is one of the best four teams? They just aren't.

The BCS system had at least some impartiality with the computers, but everybody hated that, too.

Washington isn't one of the bigger money brands.

FSU, Georgia = smaller brands? What?

I actually think the committee did pretty well given the circumstances, other than the fact that they let Michigan in. Several of their wins this season are tainted and will likely be vacated. They should have been out by default.
