I remember State and Ole Miss fans saying similar things. Nothing ever came of "civil suits". Ole Miss missed a couple of bowl games they didn't qualify for anyway and lost 2 or 3 scholarships a season for several years. That's it. Their main punishment was having to hire Matt Luke. TN will get slightly stiffer sanctions than OM got, and will have to hire their Matt Luke. Nothing will "burn down".

Obsessed is the wrong word.

Morbid curiosity is a much more accurate description.

Level I or II or enough level III violations to constitute a level I violation as grounds for termination with cause isn’t in the presidents contract. But if an academic scandal hit the university like the scandal hit football then I would expect the president to resign.

Who signed off on phat phil?

That is the reason for the university embarrassment. Hire a snake and then be shocked that it acts like a snake? Shame on you, president.

? Freeze never fought his forced resignation - as it was unrelated to the NCAA troubles.

Jackie resigned and actually got good settlement money from the NCAA later.

MSU and OM both got hammered because the NCAA can and will do what they want.

I think Tenn fans are more than a bit scared.

Tenn has made everyone forget that they still don’t know who the hell Harbin is.

More like watching "A the King's Men" played by the mentally deranged.

Worst case they lose 20 million to save 12m and force their laundry to be aired in the open.

maybe this is actually a booster war where one set of boosters is trying to get another set banned from the school...

Tennessee has a losing record to Vanderbilt in the last 9 years. Nobody is scared of the Vols.

The NCAA investigators were on Zoom with the UTk chancellor when she met with Pruitt and went over all the findings that led to firing him. The NCAA will get the UTk report when they investigate all that has gone on in Knoxville. It's too late for evidence to "disappear" about this.

The only fantasy is UT fans thinking they won’t face sanctions and a competent coach is actually willing to coach that clusterfrick.

I think Pruitt wins in court. I think UT, in a hasty deluded state, wanted to get rid of Pruitt so badly they indicted themselves with shitty evidence that won't/can't prove personally Pruitt did anything wrong or had first hand knowledge of any major NCAA infraction. Minor infractions happen at every school - and I think that's all they'll be able to pin on Pruitt in court.

But the civil suit that is coming will lay bare all the dirty laundry for everyone to see including the NCAA.

Just fire Pruitt and pay him, I doubt paying players was his idea. Boosters , admins et all are about to be exposed.

Fire the coach and he has a reason to destroy all files and could not have been compelled to testify for the NCAA. Now the courts are involved.

This is no worst than the "coop" by Fulmer and then he shoo away Greg Schiano from being the next HC of Tennessee.

Fantastic story. Shame too many folks believe it is actually remotely possible.

Paying his buyout was 100% the smart thing to do for UT. I don’t know why fans insist on arguing against that.

He literally failed to fill the terms of his contract by not providing adequate oversight to his team.
