But the civil suit that is coming will lay bare all the dirty laundry for everyone to see including the NCAA.

Just fire Pruitt and pay him, I doubt paying players was his idea. Boosters , admins et all are about to be exposed.

Fire the coach and he has a reason to destroy all files and could not have been compelled to testify for the NCAA. Now the courts are involved.

Obsessed much?

At best he will get paid from termination til the allegations hit.

If Pruitt ever has any plans of coaching again, he’ll have to cooperate with the NCAA. Also, depending on what’s included in a civil suit, that’s a good way to get blacklisted by major universities.

Pruitt is getting fricked over, but he needs to tread lightly.

It’s self inflicted. Dude put his program in NCAA crosshairs. His team, his responsibility.

He was lucky to get the Tenn head coaching gig. DC is his ceiling. Fighting for his buyout won’t hurt his coordinator stock much - if at all.

He was the head coach and had responsibility of what happened. He was supposed to provide oversight and instead he put the program in harms way.

Then the president of the university should resign for the same reason.

Great logic.

Well you hate the university of Tennessee with all your heart for some odd arse reason. Ofcourse you don't think he's at fault now that he's gone. Before he was fired and still an employee you probably thought he was 100% responsible. You're going to be sooooooo pissed when we skate any major sanctions.

Sure, and the NCAA will likely use this to justify a show cause if that ends up happening.

If he can make a case that he was compelled by his employer to turn a blind eye to non-compliance, he will get part of or all of his buyout and leave Tenn with a huge black eye in the process.

Paying his buyout was 100% the smart thing to do for UT. I don’t know why fans insist on arguing against that.

Your admin has forced Pruitt to make a case - in court - for LOIC. That’s just stupid.

I'm not sure of the particulars of the Tennessee case but this seems like an ignorant statement.

A head coach can't control what boosters and such do, especially if he knows nothing about it.

For instance, in the LSU OLOL situation, a dude was laundering money by paying people for "jobs" for the foundation he was running then they'd pay him back most of the money and keep a small percentage.

How the frick is a football coach supposed to control stuff like that?

?
I think Pruitt is a moron that is 100% at fault.

The NCAA is the least of UT’s concern. The perception that they conspired to screw a coach out of his buyout will hurt a lot more than a 1 year bowl ban and scholarship reductions.

I am hoping to see him lawyer up and squeal on everyone, then write a book. No need to work again.

By not knowing about it. This is how Alabama has remained “clean” under Saban.

Having boosters be buddy-buddy and working with the coach is a recipe for disaster.

Add in a dragon and a couple elves and you could have the foundation of a really fantasy fiction story.

Level I or II or enough level III violations to constitute a level I violation as grounds for termination with cause isn’t in the presidents contract. But if an academic scandal hit the university like the scandal hit football then I would expect the president to resign.
