Not sure what UGA did to cause Bevo’s reaction.

BEVO was clearly going after UGA. The media personnel who got in the way were damn lucky.

PETA needs to take a look at Texas if it’s true y’all are tranquillizing this poor animal. Much better use of their time than questioning UGA about the most pampered and loved dog in the country. We all should have a life as good as UGAs.
Poor Bevo. It’s beyond cruel to have to sedate a non domesticated animal only to bring him into a stadium with all the noise and activity. And obviously the tranquilizers don’t always work. Next time he could kill someone. Then after all the soul searching and finger pointing poor Bevo would be destroyed. All for something he should not be blamed for doing. It’s not his fault Texas is stupid.
No tranqs are used, whoever said that doesn't know what they're talking about. Each new Bevo is trained to be chill around noise and chaos at a young age. The article I read said they have speakers playing game noise and the Silver Spurs (handlers) will randomly do those noisemaker things. I remember his first few games (back in 2016) he was pretty frisky, but he's a vet now and it doesn't bother him.

Now let's talk about inbreeding dogs that have a whole host of health issues, the biggest one is breathing problems due to the ultra short nasal cavity. Maybe the sane, reasonable people at PETA should look into that.

And just about everyone knows who Lewis Hamilton is. Unless you’re a redneck living in the southeast USA

I would posit that given the fact that Cricket, Basketball, tennis and even baseball has 2-4 times the number of people who claim to be fans than Formula 1 has worldwide I would posit that there are billions of people worldwide who do not know who Lewis Hamilton is who aren’t rednecks nor living in the SE United States, bless their hearts. I would also bet a bunch of money that more people would recognize a picture of Lebron James than Lewis Hamilton. I’d bet even more Europeans would.

Y’all better get that animal under control. I doubt the SEC is going to allow this type of incident to continue. He could have killed UGA as well as the people standing around. I feel sorry for this poor beast. He belongs in a pastures not in a small pen at a FB game. He is a dangerous animal who is forced out of his natural environment. He could literally kill people and you would think even the idiots at Texas would realize that.

Pretty sure it was one or more of the media types that suggested it would be cool to get a pic of UGA in front of Bevo. What they got instead is a video clip that will live waaay beyond any pic. They got what they wanted and then some...and one dude almost got a permanent reminder of the occasion.

That's exactly what happened. When I saw them walking UGA over to BEVO's pen with media in tow, the first thought I had was "frickin city people"

Scholz' is a great place to drink before the game. Crown and Anchor and Posse East are great.

It is indeed! I have been to DKR several times and never had an issue getting a seat at Scholz Garden. It’s crowded as hell but we always managed to get a place and have a helluva time.

For folks that don’t know it’s in the movie “Chef”. It’s a great beer garden….wouldn’t be completely out of place in Munich!

When is the game? If it's in September, Georgia may want to be wary of Texas's cheating ways because the A/C may not be working in the locker room.

Vanderbilt already tried to do that to us recently, we brought in portable AC's referred to as "Move and Cools". UGA is ready for that kind of hijinx bullshite on the road. What psychology goes into such a decision- "Let's really piss them off at halftime when we cut off their AC in the locker room".

Ga was favored by 11 last time they played, but I forgot who won.
.

UGA lost by 7 and it’s the last time UGA has had more than a couple of starters opt out for a “meaningless” bowl game…the next UGA manhandled Baylor with nearly every starter playing some and sine then UGA has been on a pretty good run.

That was also the year that Texas was BACK. Then went onto a .645 winning record and averaged being ranked 45.2 in the final AP poll over the next 5 years with their best finish being 13-2 and #6 in the final AP poll. Since that loss UGA has a .909 winning record, average final ranking of 5.4 and 4 of those 5 years finished with a better ranking than Texas’ best finish in the same period. Texas lost the same number of games THIS season than UGA has lost in 3 years and UGA has played 3? more games than Texas in those 3 years. Texas lost as many games as UGA in Texas’ best season in nearly 2 decades as UGA has lost in 3 years….3 complete seasons. That’s fricked up….

October. UGA caught a break. UTs stadium gets unbearably hot…it seriously puts a damper on the crowd. It’s WAAAAAYYYYYY worse than Columbia South Carolina…just as humid and higher temps. Most big games now that they are in the SEC will end in the evening when the temps will start to fall but at 1430 local time in September? UGH

A "worse OL"? We return 4 starters and two others with starting experience. We'll miss SVP at center, but our OL is going to be a strength. Count on it.

AC won’t be a problem for UGA. They have their own AC system that they travel with. And I’m sure after what Texas tried to pull, it will be packed for the trip.
I lived in Texas years ago - Dallas area- for almost 2 years. I remember very hot weather but don’t remember humidity. Is this an Austin thing or has global warming changed things?

Our UGAs have shown no sign of having problems breathing. Guess if you had your way all bulldogs would be destroyed since they MIGHT have health issues. Better add Goldens to your list since most die from cancer before the age of 8. And greyhounds too.
UGA X lived a very long life for his breed. Like all his forebears he received the best vet care imaginable. He was healthy. All except one of his forebears (who had heart issues) lived a normal life span. There is no dog anywhere who has a more pampered life.
He is the most popular mascot in college football. He does inspire jealousy though. Some schools actually have to resort to bad tempered steers.
I’d be ill tempered too if I was drugged up and exposed to a loud stadium. I’d probably be so upset I’d attack dogs and people standing nearby too. Poor beast. He deserves better

This. The media caused this because they wanted a picture of two iconic mascots and it almost caused a problem. I love live mascots, but people (media) need to leave them alone, and allow the fans to enjoy the mascots presence and allow the mascots some space to relax.

They should. If you look at older pics of the bulldog mascots they looked very different. Smaller around the middle (So was I a long time ago) and looked much healthier and stronger. There is no doubt that the inbreeding of the dogs have been a terrible thing.
