The SEC's Executive Committee passed a proposal forbidding forms of artificial noise at football games from the time the offensive center puts a hand on the football until it is snapped at the conclusion of the league's Spring Meetings on Friday.

I would point out how dumb this thread is, but I’ll just sit back and eat my popcorn.

Business as usual bells will be ringing

From your link:

"Time will tell if opposing teams attempt to use the specifics of the rule to their advantage and rush the center to the ball in order to cut down on the ringing in Starkville, or if the rule will lead to even more clanging if centers wait too long"

meh, it's the off-season. Not much going on with football. It definitely takes away a large part of your home-field advantage. That's a tough place to play with all of the artificial noise.

Opposing teams won't mind getting the 15 yard penalty.

So you are saying State fans haven't been ringing the cowbell while the opposing O is set?

For the most part, absolutely. Go rewatch any game and you can hear cowbells stop when the offense breaks the huddle.

So all that artificial crowd noise Auburn was caught piping in will be forbidden?

I spent a week one day in Starkville... their fans are pretty good about following the rules on cowbells.

Auburn doesn't need to pipe in noise. It's one of the loudest stadiums in the nation.

Well if we haven’t followed the rules, how come we have seen any fines or consequences?

I don't see this as taking the bell away at all.
