Ole Miss was an Eli Manning trip and fall and arguably the flukiest play in SEC history from going to Atlanta in 2003 and 2015, respectively.
Flukiest timing wise maybe but an OL (Doug Buckles stepping on Eli's foot) tripping a QB happens all the time and there are at least 4-25 reasons why y'all couldn't sniff Atlanta from Oxford in 2015.

That is part of it but the Saunders stuff brought the NCAA to Oxford. Then Tunsil's step-dad got butt hurt and ran to the NCAA. Then Tunsil had a brain fart after he was personally attacked on draft night. It was a perfect storm of "WAOM". I would bet my house on the fact that if the NCAA investigated any SEC program for 5 years they would find multiple level 1 violations.

Those of you who think your school is clean is hilarious. Everyone speeds on the interstate. We got caught because the NCAA came to investigate the Saunders stuff.

No doubt they would find a lot of Level 1 dirty laundry if they camped out for 5 yrs.

Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think they'd find evidence of an Asst Athletic Director actively working to facilitate contact between Boosters and recruits in an effort get various Boosters to provide impermissible benefits to the recruits and active players. Barney Farrar was systematic and he worked in the top level of your program.

I may be even more naive to believe that most programs once warned by the NCAA that an active player had received a loaner car free of charge and served a suspension, the programs would make every effort to monitor the dude like a hawk afterwards. OleMiss (Freeze/OM Compliance/OM AD) failed to monitor Tunsil's automobiles, he had upto 3 loaners. WTF? Tunsil carries 2 Level 1's and a Level 2 with a Failure to Monitor charge.

Academic Fraud is a whole other can of worms where the NCAA found evidence of wrong doing and where David Saunders and Chris Vaughn lied to the investigators. The Academic Fraud alone carries 4 Level 1 violations.

The Institution at the highest level was not in control when a case spans multiple sports, multiple coaches, multiple ADs.

I honestly feel bad for Ole Miss. College football is a caste system, where players keeping going to the same programs and if you aren't one of those programs you will never be. Ole Miss tried to use what they had to force their way into a new caste, and not only did they fail but they showed how impossible that is.

Frankly I wonder why the majority of the fans in college football care so much when only about two dozen teams even have a chance to achieve greatness year-to-year. I think the drop in attendance across the nation is not only attributable to HDTV and whiny millennials, but is also due to the fact that some fans have decided to stop pouring their souls into programs that will never get anywhere just because their daddy did.

I've sacrificed my liver, bank account, and well-being at the alter of the SEC football gods.

They have remained silent.

I know of a QB/TE/OL that got cash dropped in his mailbox weekly after committing to LSU up until signing day. Don't play ignorant.

I've read all of your posts on this thread and if that's true you would either be on the phone/internet with the NCAA or pounding your chest naming names here. Not saying LSU or any other SEC school is squeaky clean but good Lord you whine more than a teenage girl. It wasn't just that OM violated rules it was how blatant it was even when OM was warned or saw this coming. This was about putting wins and alumni money over ethics, plain and simple. If LSU did this to the extent that OM did I'd be just as upset with our AD/Coaches. It makes the whole conference suspect. Not blaming the kids so much, they're kids open to temptation and should have been taught by the adults (coaches/recruiters) not to go this route. But the administration and coaches should be better than that. They took shortcuts to get talent and money and got caught. Man up!

And when the only pay 4 play in the whole thing is from Leo Lewis's testimony what are you going to say?
You are being obtuse. OM has over half a dozen Level 1's in the 1st NOA, all include some form of payment/impermissible benefits from piddly little cash payments/loaner cars/meals/lodging/inducements in various forms.

This is what I fail to understand. OM fans don't seem to be the least bit angry at Bjork or Freeze. Bjork is in charge of all athletics and Freeze is in charge of football.

That's just not true. He always had OM in his top 10 and top 5. Recruiting services didn't believe OM was in it so it surprised everyone but go back and read his interviews pre signing day.

Jan 2011: unofficial, FSU
Oct/Nov 2011: unofficial, UGA & UF
Feb 2012: OU offer
May 2012: USC, UF, & UGA eval
Nov 2012: Bama unofficial
Jan 2013: Bama & UGA official

Jan 2013: OM official, Freeze visit
Feb 06 2013: LOI to OM

according to 247, OM had no "recorded" contact (in-home, visits, evals) until Jan 25th 2013, less than two weeks before he signs.

No mention of offer before that Freeze visit in Jan 2013. UGA thought they were fending off Bama and AU.

Sorry but I dont buy this cynical shite. I dont think any other SEC program is paying players or directing players to bag men. Now $100 handshakes? Sure. But give me a break, this was some dirty shite Ole Miss did
