I was there, fall semester my freshman year. Still have my "pass out" ticket that allowed you to leave the stadium and return during the game. Of course, we NEVER went out and came back with more liquor! This was the craziest game I've ever been to. The fog, the oranges, Mike and Chief Osceola. It was fantastic! Drank screwdrivers all day! The student section was rocking, and we threw all the oranges we had!

May God bless them, just your worst nightmare to bury your child. Been there twice. My heart goes out to them.
That's MY President! :usa:

I'm referring to all of the legal issues of who was at fault, who wasn't, etc., related to the wreck. I'm separating that from the loss of a former Tiger whether self inflicted or not. I'm just addressing his death.
If LSU was going to honor him, they really should have had a #2 decal on the back of their helmets for the season. Also, his number on the field for the first home game along with recognition of a fallen teammate or former player from the announcer pregame or halftime of the first game. This would have been a nice touch for the family and fans of Lacy. Now it will look contrived and not genuine. No need to inject guilty, not guilty, wrongfully charged or any of this. LSU wasn't responsible for his actions or those of the police. All of that will work itself out in the courts. RIP young man, thank you for the memorable plays. Prayers for your family. Always a Tiger!

Prayers for Kolton and all of your family!

It's one of the things that developed me deeper into my faith as I got older. When I saw death, the soul was no longer a theoretical idea, but it became tangible.
I agree, and I've seen two of my family members breath their last breaths. Thankfully both were saved and professed it daily. There's comfort in knowing they are where all true believers want to be. This life we have is temporary, short (compared to eternity) and is so precious a gift. We, as a culture, don't place enough value on life or the protection of it.

. Pics of daughters?
Grand-daughters, nice try though. I think there's an exemption in there somewhere....
The grief is real and debilitating. My wife and I experienced the loss of her two daughters at age 26 and at age 39. Both of my stepdaughters died at different times for different reasons. We raised the younger one's three small girls. All I can say is that without our faith in Jesus, I don't know how my wife would have made it. And to turn around and raise three young little girls who all favor their mom, was really hard. The youngest was in first grade when we got them and just graduated in May. She's the kindest, sweetest, most selfless and toughest woman I know. I am blessed to have her as my wife, no pics we're older!

'm sure we'll get there eventually, because we both love dogs, but this has been absolutely brutal. We have two more dogs that are both around ten years old and I have no idea how I can do this again two more times. I'm already in it with them and I'm going to have to let them go one day but i have no idea how I can do this again. Maybe you get better at dealing with grief once you've done it before and I know it's still really fresh, but it's hard to even imagine doing this again.

On the other hand, I don't want to be so afraid of the pain of the end that I miss out on the love of today and it's an ugly fact of life that everything/everyone is going away eventually. We can't just hide from the whole world. Idk, I'm sort of word vomiting but it's a lot to process.
You've got alot on your plate right now dealing with two more older dogs. I thought she might be your only one. You're right, when you really care for animals it always hurts when they go. But, most animals won't outlive us and we know that going in. You just have to give all the love you have and enjoy all the love they give. It's just not forever, sadly. My hope is that in my idea of Heaven all of my past dogs will be there waiting for me along with all the people I love that have gone before me. God bless you as you deal with the greif!

How many times does it need to be said? Elections have consequences.
:dunno:
God bless you, I'm sure she had a wonderful home for her whole life. I've had to put three down over my lifetime for various terminal issues and I remember the first one like it was yesterday, and it's never an easy thing to do. They become our family and give unconditional love back. Just remember there are "rescue" dogs out there that need your loving home. A new puppy doesn't replace the old one, you just gain a new family member and a new set of memories. As soon as you're able, give another pup a chance at the same life. It will help you heal and probably save a pup's life. Best wishes to you!

Every time one of these anti Boomers threads is puked out I have to drop in to say, I know a lot of Boomers and the only whacked out ones I know who are on the left side of the political spectrum are primarily old dope smoking holdouts from the 60's and 70's. I would say +80% of the Boomers I personally know are hardcore MAGA but I live in Missouri so that could explain my experience with MAGA supporting Boomers.
I agree completely. I'm from the very last year of the boomers ('64) and I'm nothing like the whacked out liberal portion that is currently, and has been, our problem in the country for years. Friends and family, my age and older are MAGA as we can be and loathe the liberal nut jobs from our generation. Please don't lump us ALL together. Remember there are lots of young people today that are whacky as hell protesting, supporting Hamas, hating Jews and helping illegal alien criminals hide. Just my 2 cents worth. (I'm from South Louisiana)

The DMV makes it harder than it should be.
True, but that's no different for any race, income group, gender or religious affiliation. Everyone has the same hassle but somehow people still drive, get an EBT card, get SSI benefits, fly, any other of the numerous things that require an I.D. or Driver's License. But voting, Nooooo, don't require that because it makes too much sense to protect the integrity of EVERY vote cast.

Then they’re also incapable of drawing welfare benefits, buying liquor, getting a job/drawing UE benefits and everything else that requires an ID. You don’t get to have it both ways.
Exactly right! Well said.

I’m not sure how much of a Christian community there is.

A couple from our church just moved out to the Boulder area and, when they asked the RE agent about churches in the area, it was apparently a controversial topic to even hear about A church, let alone a specific denomination.
I lived in Denver(Northglenn) for a couple of years in the mid 90's and it was better then. But, I can see how Boulder would be like this. Sort of like a smaller version of Austin with the University there. Sad statement though.

If 2019 plays Texas week 1 do they win that game? Before answering, remember how hard it was for that team to win it in week 2
The real question is "If LSU had a working air conditioner in the locker room that day, how bad do they kick Texas' arse?" :geauxtigers:

Thanks for the post of the first inning! We weren't able to catch it in time.

Sounds like the Christian community in Denver needs to show up to have a cup of coffee. I'm NOT talking about violence, just support the owner and his coffee shop with their $$ and their presence. This may reaffirm to the owner that there are Christians who love and support this kind of outreach.
