quote:In reality, there isn't much difference in 4* & 5*'s once they've been in the program for a while. BB "seems" to run a tight ship, and he puts a lot of stock in evaluating a guys character just as much as his athletic ability, which is great IMO.
Arkansas has great coaching at every position. We have several 4* players starting. 4* Hunter Henry Denver Kirkland Dan Skipper Mitch Smothers Frank Ragnow Sebastian Tretola Alex Collins J. Williams All starters on Offense 4* Bijohn Jackson Brooks Ellis H. Frohodt J. Ledbetter All will be on defense Bret is the best we have had in taking lesser ranked players and coaching the up.
I read that BB recently employed the UA Panhellenic President in the athletic dept. IMO, there's no better source to use when trying to evaluate the character and social aspects of someone coming out of high school. Sororities are very critical and picky about their prospective new members. They have a great process for evaluating sorority recruits.

So would Miss Teen Delaware not have a chance of making the team? :nb4ultimatepostspictures:

I think they should have waited on the raise (same with Kentucky and Stoops). I still can't see Arky finishing better than 5th in the West.
Also, after this year, they will lose a lot on offense. QB Allen, WR Hatcher, 2 OL, and RBs; Williams, Walker, and I'm about 75% sure at this point, Collins will be gone. There is even an outside shot of losing Hunter Henry who people consider the most complete TE and is looking like a 2nd round pick and could push to 1st round with a big year on the field.
Speaking from experience with losing all of your production at once and not running some plug and play spread system, it's a pretty crappy next year for offense.
2016 is going to be hell. I don't put that on him, but it's just the situation being Arky, in the crazy West, and losing everybody at once. I don't think he makes 9 wins this year and I'd doubt he makes 7 wins next year.

Bielema is a pretty darn good coach, I think Arkansas takes a step back this year though.
They went 2-6 and were arguably the worst SEC team other than Vandy and UK- how do they take a step back from that?

LSU, Ole Miss, (wins), Bama, Miss State, (very close losses) might not agree with you.

again who is florida's coach??
Posted on 6/25/15 at 4:32 pm to tjv305
Do you know who Florida hired as the new HC?
Posted on 6/25/15 at 4:40 pm to DBU
I do know who UF hired as the new head coach and he will do much better then Bert did in his first 2 Years , even with Muschamp running the program into the ground. He'll even Muschamp did much better then Bert in his first 2 years and he sucks.
So Bert has great talent and is great at coaching up his players but he has 2 conference wins in his first 2 years.

Where did I say Petrino was a better recruiter then Bert? I said he does better with less , there is no way Bert will match Petrinos record.

Bert's poop is so buoyant it could hold up a fricking ocean liner

1st round talent wins championships . I would prefer to have 5 first and second round talents to go with the 10 less talented players.

Ninja please. Arkansas would have taken the Gators to the woodshed last year.

I always wonder why people say this. Petrino might have had less on defense, but his defenses weren't good. On offense during 2010 and 2011 he had a 5* QB, 4* QB, multiple 4* WRs like Jarius Wright and Joe Adams, a 4* TE that won the mackey award, and a 4* RB.
He's a great offensive coach but it's not like he was out there with a bunch of 2*s

Yeah that's why it's important that we snag a big time RB in this class. Not really worried about the OL, I think it will still be good, but that is a lot to lose. A lot of the defense will be back though. A lot depends on how the new QB plays.

I was going off what the entire team did because he is the head coach but even if you compare the offenses , unless Petrino had a lot more talent then he does a lot better with less because it's not even a comparison.
Posted on 6/25/15 at 5:30 pm to tjv305
Petrino didn't exactly set the world on fire his first two years.
He went 5-7,2-6 his first year and 8-5,3-5 his second year.5 conference wins in the first two years.
Let's see how year three goes for Beliema before making comparisons.

The West will be loaded next year. The only guaranteed win I give Arkansas next year is over Ole Miss. And that's a long stretch.

Ehhhhh..... I don't really think so. You couldn't beat us in our worst season in 30 years, don't really see why the next year would be much different. But hey, let's check Arkansas SEC record against Florida all-time, maybe you guys have a history of pulling upsets.
0-Eternity....huh, yeah I can see why you'd think you'd beat Florida.
