That is as much of a no win situation as it gets.

The Franchione days were very, very dark days ... I did manage to live through them though.

I was thinking more recently ...

Not to mention that sweet, sweet, bowl money. With as much damage as this year has done to Athletic budgets I don't see anyone passing on a big paycheck unless their entire team is in the hospital.
Thats assuming that the bowls have the money to pay the schools.

I honestly don’t know the answer to that question. Obviously none of the minor bowls will turn a profit at the gate, with limited seating and concessions - in fact some bowls may he facing lockdown conditions, or at the very least massive logistical issues. And who’s to say that locals would show up, or fans travel long distances with the possibility that the game could he cancelled at the last minute?

Then there are the corporate sponsors - what kind of year are they having? Do they have an out in their contracts with the bowls to reduce their financial obligations? And if they don’t, what happens if the game falls through due to COVID protocols? Do you think they would want to go to their shareholders and say “well, we would have broke even this year if we hadn’t paid the Bogus Bowl $20 million for sponsorship rights even though they didn’t actually have a game”?

Of course there’s massive TV revenues, but where will that money come from? ESPN pays the bowls, but what effect will the pandemic have on advertising budgets?

It’s all a huge fiasco, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with as little as half as many bowls this season as we did last.

Yep - I'm very skeptical how many of these bowls actually happen.

3 and 11 LOL. Cincinnati would beat UGA right now and when our couple of prima donnas decide not to play and the rest of the team has the sads cause they aint in the playoffs, coupled with Cincinnati being excited to win a NY6 bowl against an SEC team and it could get UGLY.

Bama, UF and A&M ought to do well though.....

NY6 Cotton Bowl (NY6) - Texas A&M vs Oklahoma

What is their fricking fetish with having A&M play Big 12 teams in bowls?!

Since A&M joined the SEC, they've played 4 bowl games against Big 12 schools (2012, 2014, 2016, 2019)

If the SEC gets four teams in the CFP/NY6 there is a very good chance State could be 2-8 and get a bowl invite.

Meh. As SB Nation said at the time, only one image is needed to summarize that game.

How did A&M not win a championship with both Manziel and Evans on the same team. Talk about wasted opportunities

Bertolet.

Didn't help in the Florida game, but we could have gotten past that. Almost single-handedly cost us the LSU game, even with the really good job LSU did containing Manziel.
