This is what happens when you play in the ACC and don't get to enjoy and real football until after Christmas. Sorry your school didn't make the cut to sit at the big boy table.

Not much different than the quarterback taking the snap on 4th down and punting, which has been done for years. They were just trying to neutralize bama's dynamic returner.

Yep, these two situations are really similar. Clemson dunce has a problem with Gus schooling Saban though.

It wasn't the refs that fricked Bama. It was the substitution rules. The defense should be able to freely substitute until the ball is snapped, precisely to keep bush league bitches like Gus from pulling stunts like putting a punter in at WR.

It was genius. I love this shite. I love how Malzahn pulled a a dick move and Saban was too slow to recognize it and it cost them a chance to win the game and now Saban is crying about it.

He should never comment on it and hope nobody talks about how he got embarrassed by a man wearing half a hat.

I don’t understand why in that situation Alabama didn’t just run the punt return team out... punt return teams esp punt safe are usually drilled on transitioning in and out of a base defense and have coverage responsibilities. There’s no way auburn was going to go for that can you imagine the nuclear fallout if Gus lost that game “being cute”.

You do that and Auburn either wastes a timeout or motions the punter into the backfield to kick and then you have waddle returning a punt against a punting team that isn’t ideally structured to cover punts... when bama just needs to get in field goal range.

Well yeah, that’s why it’s so funny that Saban has whined about it. It’s not that it was something hard to cover.

It’s not any different than lining up a QB behind center then sending him in motion to put him on the perimeter to give the defense and their coaches a different look to confuse them. Don’t both offenses and defenses try to confuse the other side of the line of scrimmage frequently to gain an advantage? I’m not a fan of either school or coach, but it was quite an ingenious call actually because, in the end, it did cause confusion to the point of gaining a substantial advantage, i.e., a first down.

Jesus came and died in the cross to stop trick plays in football.

I never realized the Lord was so interested in sports. Always figured he was crucified to atone for the sins of the world.

Is all play action evil?
What about a reverse?
A jet sweep?

A pump fake?

Clemson melt to protect bammer?

Are you a former sidewalk bammer who (after last years loss) immediately converted to a Clemson fan?

I never anticipated a delicious Clemson melt. It tastes good.

Almost feel sorry for Clemson fans — there wasn’t one game on their schedule worth watching. Then after the SCar game, Dabo melts like a little bitch Waaah, South Carolina’s the hugest game ever, waaaah!. The ACC is so bad, Dabo has to dick ride 8 loss Gamecocks. Pathetic.

To your point it’s kind of funny and motioning out the QB is a good comparison... you pretty much expect the defense to be at least sort of ready for it, and have a DB cover the QB. You wouldn’t expect a complete meltdown.

Man bringing in The Bible to discuss a trick formation is getting a little strange to me. It was kind of high school play. But it worked and there are no rules against. Don’t have a dog in this fight but Gus pulled one over on this one. Hats off to him.

The rules need to be changed to allow free substitution by the defense until the ball is snapped.

Is that you, Nick?
