I believe the ACC blindsided the SEC by doing this and the SEC said FU.

The ACC should have worked with the SEC, not decided all by themselves.

Yep. It is high time the SEC quits giving Clemson's SOS legitimacy by playing 1 or 2 "Big Games" a season while pussy walking through the rest of the year rested for the playoffs. They recruit on the fact and it hurts us all.

The ACC put the stupid provision in that the acc team had to play in their homestate as it pertains to ooc games.

I wonder if that was something ND wanted in exchange for their one year "ACC membership." They were supposed to play @Navy in Ireland and with Covid19 that game was moved to be played in Annapolis for the first time ever. Did ND ask for that provision so they could tell Navy "Look we would LOVE to play there, but the ACC won't let us"?

I believe the ACC cancelled Auburn’s game vs the ACC.

Then in a total bitch move says Auburn must travel to NC to play the game. FU and the ACC.

I’m almost certain South Carolina called for this. They are terrified of Clemson!

Our president was the only one to vote for playing OOC games

SC should be playing Clemson this year. The fact that we aren't is ridiculous. I have zero interest in College football this year now.

What a bunch of pusssys...

ACC already canceled OOC games that are not played in the ACC team's home state which, for example, canceled the Aub-UNC game.

At least research a little before calling out others.

Playing them in a COVID year is asinine. We would t even get the ticket $. Just sit that week out to recover from injury and virus for the SECCG.

Someday Navy is going to schedule their home game with ND on an aircraft carrier in the middle of an ocean.

For whatever it’s worth, South Carolina was the only vote in favor of SEC/ACC matchups

you left out Clemson beating those SEC teams. it wasn't merely playing them. lol

ya'll say SEC is better

it's been awhile since beating SC has helped Clemson's schedule.

I'm all for playing a 10 game ACC schedule every year with no SC or SEC teams. Ya'll disrespect ACC so why should ACC play games against you.

ACC wanted to keep Clemson-SC, GA-GTECH, UF-FSU but didn't want to keep the openers scheduled against other SEC teams. Even though matchups against Virginia and UNC are closer than those teams traveling in-conference all the way to Florida.

they want it so bad they restricted their teams from playing 3 SEC teams in big time games.

This right here is the real reason. ACC wanted to protect their in-state rivalries while ducking those games.

No way Ireland is going to want to host a bunch of Americans from hotspot infected areas during covid. Hell Germany cancelled their Oktoberfest stuff months ago.

why would ACC teams schedule those games in the first place if they wanted to duck them. your logic cancels itself.

Why preserve in-state rivalries but say Georgia playing Virginia is bad but a school from Tallahassee playing one in Indiana is ok?

The answer on the rivalry question is pride. No team would've wanted to be seen ducking out of a rivalry game. The OOC in-state rule was an added bit that cancelled the whole slate for you and officials knew such a poison pill provision would do that before they passed it. No conference is going to say 'well ok since you made this provision here we'll take care of 4 schools and screw our other 4 schools out of games.'

ACC should've just been honest about it instead of trying to pretend. You're in the same general area we are and we expect covid spikes when students return. That means we have to push things back to a later date and that leaves no time for OOCs.

i believe the cancelled games were in Atlanta which is ground zero for covid in the southeast.

all the conferences are trying to 'virtue signal' by cancelling something to shoe they are 'deeply concerned' about the virus.

but it was SEC decision to not play the state rivalry games. don't blame shift homey

the SC game was at lil ol Clemson this year. playing a game in a rural area is the ideal situation.
