That is what will happen if the SEC takes in teams that fans here seem to be sold on to make the league more competitive. That is a "be careful what you wish for" situation. That would work in a 2-conference championship between the SEC and the B1G but not with the current set up. The ACC and Big 12 will get extra slots in that case. The way things are set up now it also means that for every team that goes 9-0, 8-1 or 7-2 there has to be teams that finish 0-9,1-8 or 2-7. There will always be disappointed fan bases and coaches on the hot seat because the day of dominance ended with the NIL. I can see 1 or 2 teams having 2 years of great records in the win/loss column but not sustained by any means. That is why I would support a 2-league breakaway with the SEC and B1G holding a championship apart from the others. The NIL created a mess that can't be fixed any other way. I could be wrong, but the lawsuits just keep coming.

I do think the 9 game rotating schedule makes it to where we don't have to worry about a 2 loss SEC team being left out again like Vandy was. It makes things tougher though. The Big 10 gets a break right now on their 9 game schedules because the bottom half is definitely not on par with the bottom half of the SEC. A 9-3 SEC team should definitely go over Big 12 and ACC teams that are 10-2 in most cases imo.
