2002 game in Little Rock. "Miracle on Markham". FFW to 6:23 for the drama: holy shite

How Houston Nutt underachieved with THAT backfield amazes me to this day.
All you had to do was occasionally pass to keep defenses from stacking 9 on the line.

He was known as the QB killer as well.

Y'all cannot stand that we want nothing to do with you. Hilarious and sad. All you (and from what I can tell most other Mizzou posters) post about is whining that Arkansas doesn't consider you a rival. You post about Arkansas at a higher % than I do

I believe his problem is jealousy in that he can’t accept the fact that the LSU/Arkansas thanksgiving weekend game was 50x more entertaining/fun to watch than Arkansas/Missouri.
The LSU/A&M game on final weekend is isn’t bad by any means, but there is just something about that game that just does not excite me near as much compared to the LSU/Arky Friday game on a cool fall day playing for the golden boot.

That really was an awesome game. McFadden was a freak

That game was insane and at the moment a total heartbreaker for LSU.
The one play I remember the most is is play action pas to Hester that went for a long TD in the second half that seemed like LSU was going to get some separation… only to be called for an alignment penalty. That play changed the game.

Bc the Hawgs won this game, Mizzou jumped to #1 in the country after beating the hated jayhawks in Armageddon at Arrowhead. Thanks, Pigs!

Yeah. That was a better fought season than some may think bc of the two losses but the SEC was brutal that year when we were all healthy. We jumped and got it. And if we didn’t have DMAC and Felix, no win. Casey Dick had a great block on Chad Jones though.

Great game in all honesty, but Danny McCray single handedly lost that game for LSU. He was out of position so many times and made awful read after awful read. Hell, he just watched Hillis run free on that 4th and 10 completion in the 1st OT allowing them to stay alive.
Beyond sad, but worked out in the end.

McFadden went to where careers died and that was Oakland.
They had the worst offensive line in the NFL and he had injuries each year.

I remember never understanding that decision. Mustain was undefeated and then they seemed to randomly go to Casey Dick and then they lost to LSU, Florida, and Wisconsin all in a row. Now granted those were the best 3 teams they played all year aside from Auburn and USC earlier but I never understood why they went away from a guy that hadn't lost yet. I still frankly don't. I also don't get why he transferred to USC when they had a stacked QB roster already, why didn't he go somewhere where he would be the bona fide starter? That whole situation is still very much head scratching to me. If anyone can clarify that, that would be awesome.
If you go back and watch those games where Mitch was undefeated you will see that Mitch was basically doing everything he could to lose those games while McFadden was winning them. The South Carolina game is the one where Mitch got pulled in the first series for throwing a stupid int. We won that game but Mitch got credit for it because he started.
The harsh reality is that Mitch sucked shite as a 5 star QB. He transferred to USC where he hardly saw the field. The kid had head problems and it was there well before Nutt came into the picture. His Mom basically pimped him out to the press in highschool and all in all just a f’d up situation.
He was the product of Gus Malzhans offensive which at the time was taking advantage of the lack of rules in place for that type of offensive. I’m highschool they just killed teams because, well it was high school and they had no clue how to defend it… little did they know that you can’t defend against it without some rule changes in place.
Anyway, he was never that good. The real star was Damien Williams who left because of the drama. Nutt was cursed because a lack of passing game, it’s the reason why one of the greatest backfields ever to play in the SEC couldn’t carry against the elite teams, especially with the handicap at the QB position.

So Mustain was trying to lose those games on purpose?
