Having a top heavy landscape is fine of the teams mix it up every 2-3 years, but this is the longest period I can remember the smallest number if programs dominating.

It really is.
The SEC is the only conference where your traditional powers (save Tenn) haven't all fallen off a cliff.
What are the chances that FSU, Miami, VT, Michigan, Wisconsin, USC, Texas, Oregon, etc would be this bad for this long?
It's amazing.

Drama queen bullshite. It's like you've never watched college football before.

Except they changed the rules to deal the B1G and PAC back in. Ohio State has used it to their advantage but the PAC have been playing pocket pool and not paying attention.

The CFP was a way to ensure that socialism replaced the computers. In theory socialism sounds good except in reality some folks are always way more equal than others. Who the hell made Heather Dinnich the Oracle of Delphi, er, Grapevine Texas? Her formative years were wasted in the B1G and ACC so how can she speak for the B12 or SEC where most teams should come from. Hell the Warren Commission had fewer clouds of conspiracies than this committee.

If committees were so good, how come Washington, DC is such a mess. Committees just ensure big business gets heard before the citizens.

Also, point of order,
a participation trophy is exactly what the rest of us will get.

They're called bowl games.

Then try sucking less.

Texas beat OU and UGA last year so how are they trash?

Big 12 has : OU, Texas, Kstate,
Big 10 has : tOSU, Michigan, maybe Penn state or Nebraska.

Those aren’t trash teams.

I know why people are saying this and I totally get the sentiment but if you sit back and think about it, its really dumb.

The talk was how important that game was to Oregon because they could show everyone how strong they are by beating a team that they were ranked 6 places in front of

It's not that, it's that Oregon doesn't have any more opportunities for a signature win. The only other ranked teams in the Pac are the Washington schools down in the 20s, and WSU barely got past Houston. USC will fall out after yesterday.

When a conference is seen as weak like the Pac is this year, you either have to be undefeated, or have a big win that shows you can compete with the frontrunners to get consideration from the committee. With the loss to Auburn, both of those goals are already out of reach for Oregon.

Well, let's be fair here. Trash is hyperbolic, but i only see two teams on that list that are CFP contenders, at this moment.

Maybe that changes.

But as of right now, I would think OU dominates and tOSU dominates.

They need to drop the non conference gimmies and extend the playoff. Add a bye week for top 4

Agree with most of the points here about the current state of the conferences, including the ACC.

However, I don’t necessary agree that the top of the SEC is competitive. LSU, AU and UGA are just assuming they are going to have competitive games against Bama.

Last year suggests otherwise. UGA was the only team that was remotely competitive against the Tide. You’re just assuming this year will be different.

Until proven to be wrong, the SEC is Alabama and the rest.

Until the committee fricks up, I got no complaints. I was wanting to see the BCS system used, but then I did some ranking stuff and realized how bad those computer rankings were. And then you have shite like the AP that ranked 10-3 USC #3 a few years ago, etc.

Committee is fine as long as they keep on the path thus far.
