Not true, the money was there to fire Les in 2015. Then Governor Jindal used leverage to get F King to block Alleva from Firing Les (Alleva was correct, time for Les to go). F King was hired by Jindal's LSU BOS, he was not qualified to be President of LSU and was a hire that Jindal and the board could control. Jindal was running for the 2016 GOP nomination and even though all the money to buy out Les was private, he did not want the PR of LSU having the money to buy out a coach while higher education was being cut to balance the LA budget.
So the alliance of a Conservative Governor (Jindal) not wanting bad PR and F King, a Liberal academician who actually stated publicly he did not care for sports who was willing to comply with Jindal's wishes are what prevented Miles from being fired in 2015.

Unlike other schools, Jimbo has no buyout. If he doesn't want to be here, he can leave tomorrow. However LSU will have a hard time matching $95M (he got a raise a couple of months ago), when all they have is a used shrimp boat, a couple of meat pies up in Natchitoches and a case of Jimmy Swaggart "How to Make Millions Preaching" videos.

You would be wrong about that. Once you get a few tastes of winning there is no going back. Not spending the money and hiring an inferior product is going to cost you more long term financially in terms of fan support, alumni support and the financial windfall that comes with being a perennial playoff contender

Truer words have never been spoken. When the King in the State of Texas comes into the SEC next season, Texas A&M will become an afterthought.
Look I like Jimbo. There’s history there between him and LSU and it's like family. The problem is Jimbo’s coaching style. He’ll win a big game, but lose the ones he’s suppose to win. I’m confident that Saban doesn't want Jimbo at LSU. If LSU lands Jimbo, I'll say they could have done a lot worse and it's addition by subtraction.
