It’s going to be a good watch.

It will also be a historic game being the last time you will meet in the Big12

Historic for the rest of the BIG XII maybe. OU/TX has always been it's own thing.

And I've watched Texas and they remind me of the New England Patriots with Tom Brady. They roll out on offense and calmly whip the piss out of everyone. Ewers is collected and accurate. The OL is stout. Running game and receivers are steady. Maybe not dazzling, but constantly effective and moving the chains.

No doubt, you guys are the more mature and talented team this year. But, this Oklahoma team is also very talented. If they put it all together and don't turn the ball over, they could win.

They do. They have a pro-style offense and methodically run it well and throw it well. Very balanced and mature group. Very impressive offense that looks like and plays like a polished NFL team. Ewers is almost always under center and has time to throw it. Good accuracy, good receivers and TE. The O-line can run block and pass block.

OU is a few years behind this team, organizationally, but still has the horses to take them down if they play well.

M'kay.........they don't look anything like what you're saying.

No we're not. That's just laughable. You can't "have the horses" while at the same time being "a few years behind". Those two things don't go together.

Easy there Lou Holtz, not falling for this trap.

I think he was referring to the split stadium/neutral site "dynamic".

Obviously the WLOTCP is one game that has that same dynamic.

Having been to both I'd say the main difference is the fact that OU/TX is literally a "carnival" atmosphere makes it a bit different than GA/FLA. The other aspect that I feel is different is that while the Universities of GA and FLA have no love lost for each other... I didn't get the feeling it was near as much a state pride thing as the OU/TX game represents.

Texas should cover. The question is can the d-line overpower the OU o-line enough to cover up for the suspect secondary. If so UT should cover. If not then I can see Gabriel having a field day potentially and a track meet ensues.

I think Texas is going to devote more guys to coverage and dare OU to run on them with an honest box. If OU can, that will open it up for them. If they can’t, Gabriel is going to have his middle of the field shots taken away and will have to execute more of those wide throws that he struggles with.

Probably goes without saying but the 2 biggest indicators of a W/L in this game (outside of scoreboard of course) are who wins the rushing battle and who wins turnovers

Turnovers are tough to gauge who will have the better day. Feel good about Texas rush offense/defense. I have read OU has struggled to establish the run even with the poor schedule to date

I agree with all you said until the last sentence. Who besides Alabama, has Texas played this season? Really, who have the Horns played?

Wyoming beat Texas Tech
(and they are are better with backup QB imo)
they play Fresno this week and I don’t know if they win, but I think they will keep it competitive. They are an older team.. no world beaters, but solid. Similar to a normal BYU team.

Rice isn’t all that special, but they beat UH. Similar to most of your wins imo.

Kansas obviously was hurt with Daniels not playing, but Bean lit y’all up pretty good last year. He isn’t a bad QB.. he just isn’t as good as Daniels.

Baylor sucks. Not gonna lie.

They are a combined 17-3 vs teams not named Texas.. no world beaters in the group, but they mostly don’t suck either.

The important distinction between our opponents is that we didn’t play down to the competition.. which is a nice step for us. This is a good Texas team, and I think we are better than OU, but as you know, that doesn’t mean that I am right or that Texas will win this week.

You are going to have big problems with our OL and DL. I know that for certain.. and in the 2nd half, your guys are going to be gassed. Texas has more depth than I can ever remember..

Wyoming would beat anybody you have played this far. So would Kansas. Pipe down sooner.
