The B1G was 1-3 against the SEC in the regular season, I'll include tosu's win over Tenner to make it 2-3. Nobody is counting these opt-out bowl games.

His 3rd quarter struggles are a definite cause for concern. I just think it comes back to how much he trust the QB. The whole ALL GAS NO BRAKES thing doesn't work in 1st/2nd gear.
Can't wait to see if his play calling is the same next year.

Likewise. In 2005 Mack Brown had an epiphany that he needed to get the “offensive scheme” out of the way and just let Vince Young be VY. Sometimes coaches just need to get out of their own way, and this is what I hope Sark learns. At the end of the day football is not a complicated game, but some coaches make it complicated for the players rather than just letting them use their talent.
Any OL worth his salt just wants to kick the crap out of the person in front of him. Texas should’ve been able to impose their will on an undersized ASU defensive front and only a preordained scheme prevented them from doing so.

I think it's actually pretty simple.
When Texas scores too quick, the defense has been totally gassed in the 4th quarter.. See 2021 and 2022. Therefore, he has been trying to find a balance.. he scores early, and then he slow plays it and tries to run the ball.. if they can't stop it, game is over. If they can, we usually have a bad 3rd quarter and the other team gets close, at which time Sark tries to turn on the gas again to finish the game.
This past week was a good example of the defense getting gassed in the 4th quarter, but it was for a lot of different reasons..
1) Running into the kicker - ASU gets a new set of downs
2) Offense scores in 2 plays - ASU gets the ball right back
3) Punt Return for TD - ASU gets the ball right back
4) Safety on 1st Play after Goalline stop - ASU gets the ball right back
5) Interception - ASU gets the ball right back
6) Fake Punt - ASU gets a new set of downs
All of that lead to ASU's offense on the field for a long arse time.. and they got gassed. TBD what happens in the Cotton Bowl.

1- Neither , simply watch with interest. If you're looking
for a groundswell of support here for Texas simply because now
in the SEC , won't happen ---- and especially since you've had relative easy
street to get this far. SEC sharks from other schools are already circling.
2- Obviously offense help defense , run , short passes , keep moving
the ball.: Gut it out. Unlike Arizona State , no magic in the bottle to beat OSU
3- No

Great analysis and you are right on, defense was just gassed by 4th quarter. I would add only that after the first TD the offense had a field goal and then nothing until 4th quarter. The signs were there in 2nd quarter that something was off and I was hoping they’d fix it at halftime. But just no complimentary football for too much of the game.

OSU has the best receivers we’ll see all year but we do have the personnel to contain them. We do have one weak link in the secondary but I can’t imagine they’ll ever leave him in man. One of the Texas sites had an writeup today on how Michigan has stopped OSU the last 4 years and I expect some of that to be implemented. The reason Oregon didn’t is because they don’t have the personnel to do it. We do but it’ll still take our best game of the year, as well as our offense being able to chew some clock so defense doesn’t get gassed (as they did vs Georgia and ASU).

Texas better come into the game with their asses on fire unlike what they’ve done most of the year. If they don’t they’re gonna get curb stomped. Ohio State is clicking on all cylinders right now and I hate it. But it’s obvious they’re the hottest team at the moment.
