Texas fans tend to be fair weather for the most part. However, their lack of participation in Omaha was surprising.

All in all it’s been a weak showing for every fan base.
They need to rig it to where Ole Miss, State and LSU are in it every year.

Very few Texas or UGA fans in the stands tonight.

UGA fans should take a tip from Texas fans on how to respond to this.

As an OU fan... we are familiar with how it goes...

"Why should we go to a shitty ole boring town like Omaha, NE when we can stay in Austin/Texas and do all the fun filled things there are to do in Austin/Texas..".

I would think that Athens and Atlanta folks could pull that off.

Meanwhile... it seems that locals in Omaha pick up the extra tickets for this as teams' fans leave. It will be interesting how their rooting interests go from here on out. I'm sure WVU will be the darlings... but between OU, Georgia and UNC... it will be interesting which team the crowd adopts.

You would assume OU is the big underdog... but Nebraska fans are pretty split on how they feel about OU.

Tell me what Texas fans care deeply about and I’ll show you how underwhelming they are at it.

No that's LSU fans

Kings of glass home rock throwers.

They can suck all the dicks in the world but still sit around and talk shite about everyone else who did better than them.

Must be an exhausting existence for sure

UTranny fans came to the SEC expecting everyone to suck their dicks because they pretend they ran the Big 12 but everyone has just laughed at them instead.

"We haven't won dick since the iPhone was released but we're definitely a blueblood though!!!

"Oh yeah, and the Director's Cup!!!"

TX had a pretty big crowd in 2021 against State when Bednar struck out a dozen and a half of them, but that was a Saturday. I get the drop in fan support during the week. I’ve always gone for the opening weekend then went back home. Returned to the finals in 2021.

There’s always a huge youth baseball tournament in the Omaha area during the CWS. I think they all get tickets to a midweek game as part of the entry fee, but once they did away with the G/A seating in the outfield that may have changed. It was also pretty neat being able to go and buy a book of G/A tickets to use whenever at the local grocery stores, but that went away with COVID and never came back.

It’s our 39th trip, it’s the middle of the week, and while it’s an accomplishment we will very possibly be back next year.

Was going if we made the natty like a lot of Texas fans.

Everyone was obviously aware of the percentages...

Less than a 16% title percentage in Omaha and zero trips to the finals in 15+ years...?

Makes total sense why nobody went.

Seemed like they were there in force. When the pitcher got out of the bases loaded jam in the 7th (i think), it was noticeably loud.

Lots of UGA crowd shots on TV... more than Texas. Could be part of the reason you think Texas wasn't represented well.

Outside of the family sections, I didn't see much density from either fanbase.

It definitely didn't look anything like LSU - Arkansas last year.

Unlike in Louisiana most of those fans aren’t living off the government and have to work for a living.

Omaha residents don't pick up extra tickets. They own them in the first place, but sell them when demand is strong. When it's not, they go to the games.
