Interesting hire. ILB Coach for the Gators. Looks like he was co-DC at UNC before. Not sure how much of a hand he had in recruiting at Florida

I can only assume this is how A&M fans feel about Mr. Bateman

Knowing he’s off a burning ship and on to a bigger buyout in a few seasons, Jay tried to not let his emotion show and keep a stoic face.

So this guy's boss is that 18-year-old defensive coordinator?

I can speak for all Mizzou fans in saying "Hell yeah!" We thought A&M was coming after Baker.

Doesn't get much more underwhelming than that, well done Ags.

Any current defensive coach that leaves UF is good for the Gators. Congrats to A&M.

Holy shite, this is the guy they waited three weeks for? How many people must have told Elko no?

The same Jay Bateman who was the primary defensive play caller for a UNC defense that finished 105th nationally in points allowed and 94th in yards allowed in his last stint as a DC? That Jay Bateman? Interesting. Guess 2 years of coaching the vaunted Florida Gators Linebackers was enough to wash that stink off.

The Jimbo era and firing, Stoops offer and acceptance and the entire morbidly obese Elko tenure must feel like an elaborate episode of Punk’d. I’m waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out behind a camera.

aggy logic: "hiring sitting natty corches and big names didn't work for us, so clearly hiring a bunch of fricking nobodies and scrubs means dynasty bitches!!!"

I don't know if it was the coaches or players or both, but we gave up 4.84 yards per carry in 2023 which is good for 13th in the league. Thanks Vandy I guess.

Not sorry to see him go, but that really goes for anyone on our staff.

He was the lead recruiter for Myles Graham, Aaron Chiles, Jamonta Waller, and Adarius Hayes.

He had 4 top 100 LBs committed in early November. Of course Waller flipped to Auburn and Hayes flipped to Miami. Myles Graham is a Gator Legacy and was coming no matter who he was recruited by.

So Bateman has the chops to recruit the best players but couldn't get them over the finish line.

Maybe our strategy is: if we can make Florida an even bigger dumpster fire, maybe it'll take some of the spotlight off us?

I was more impressed with our OC hire, this one seems kinda meh, but we couldve done worse.

He offered him a promotion. Did Billy stuff Saban in a locker when he hired Austin Armstrong?
