I hope he’s so wildly successful for us in Lafayette in A&M backs the Brinks truck up for him…but I want that “wild success” to happen first in the form of at least one trip to Omaha.

Then he can cash out and live the well deserved baller life.

Huh? I'm saying it would be an upward move for him so it would make sense as he is a good coach even though he allows his dugout to celebrate pride every game.

Heefner would be a HR, but I don't think he's everleaving DBU. If so, he'd already have gone to Baylor (jmo).

Don't know anything about him. But a friend suggested him. MONEY, makes the world go 'round.

The portal closes on July 1, & as Texas is not yet in the conference, Aggie players can transfer in with no restrictions till then. Plus, any new coach needs to get transfer portal players IN to College Station before then. And whoever that new coach may be, his former school would then get screwed, too. This is really going to ripple across the country.

Players just need to be in the portal by July 1, they can go wherever afterwards, SEC or not.

As I said, Heefner is my number 1. Whether he is interested or not, you make that call. Pennington is his assistant, the recruiting coordinator and an Aggie. He was also named assistant coach of the year.

You make that call and make him say no.

Schott and Chestnut are calling for A&M to hire Cain or Earley, which is interesting considering Aggies have said that those guys were actively sabotaging the program for the past month.

@SchottHayden
HIRE MICHAEL EARLY OR NOLAN CAIN.

Travis Chestnut

This is a must for Aggieland. Do your part college station

I said it during the football coaching search and the same applies here, making the right hire is more important than player attrition. I love those guys, but if what they want doesn’t align with the right hire, then so be it.

Am I surprised? Not really. But then again, I am a little bit because of what was going to go on at A&M. They already made a lot of commitments to upgrade the stadium. Their fanbase is huge, it’s passionate, they show up, they make a lot of noise, they make it really hard for you to win there. And they have a lot of tradition. And I don’t know, it’s in Texas, there’s a lot players. A lot of players to recruit right down the road at Houston and up the road in Dallas and over there and over there. But I think, I don’t know — I don’t know.

100%, can't make a multimillion dollar hire because of the opinions of some 18-23 year olds who may be gone tomorrow anyway.

A&M will probably take the cheap path. We are cutting costs and saving all the budget for players. That is the message from the AD

Kendall Rogers is reporting the opposite.

Texas A&M what have Marv Alberts done for Nebraska when he was the AD there? I would start over and go with a young and up-and-coming manager. That way no one else will want to steal your coach. Look at what Texas A&M got as their football HC. Since Texas A&M has to start all over from scratch after losing the manager, assistants, and key players.

Rogers is wrong about this one. We will have some great coaches express interest. But I don't think it will matter in the long run. Next year is a wash at this point. I do know the players love Early quite a bit.
