I mean, congrats for being the top ranked team and all that, but come on.
People actually sat in a room looking at several good logo presentations and they decided, "hey we really like that uterus thing "
And the PR firm rep said, "uh, that's supposed to be a longhorn "

Bevo is arguably the most iconic mascot in sports. Nothing is more associated with the State of Texas, and the University of Texas.
Ralphie is cool, but nobody outside of college football associates Colorado with Buffalos.

An iconic and recognized mascot for sure. 2100 lbs of raging snorting muscle. I totally respect Bevo.
However, that uterus looking logo does Bevo a disservice.

I agree with all that...
But you also have to admit that your mascot's ancestors are the only animals that were willing to walk 600 miles to get hit between the eyes with a hammer...

The Longhorn is not a predator, but an adult longhorn is not prey for anything.
Living in driving all over central Texas, I see Longhorns a lot, walking down the streets, and I see Bevo every game. I still take pictures of them when I see them.
They will eat the bark off a tree to survive, when most cattle will lie in the shade of that tree, and die. That is why the Spaniards brought them here.
To be clear, a tiger is a cat, which also has other names by which it's called.

Most wild Longhorns that were originally rounded up and moved would try to kill (gore) a cowboy if cowboy ever got to close to one on foot. Wild Longhorns were some lean and mean SOBs.
