Huh, looks like most SEC schools actually care about the consolation prize even when they didn't win it:

Alabama 7th place in Director's Cup: Banner year!
Arkansas 7th place in Director's Cup 2nd year in a row!
Auburn #18 in Director's Cup, best finish in 13 years!
Florida finishes 5th!
Georgia finishes 19th!
Kentucky's highest finish ever at 9th in Director's Cup
LSU finishes at 15th in Director's Cup
Ole Miss record high finish at #20!
Tennessee finishes 13th!
Vanderbilt 4th highest finish ever!
Texas A&M comes in at 25!
* Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina have not finished high enough to warrant a puff piece

SEC apparently cares too: SEC places most schools in Top 30!

I'm starting to think you have an axe to grind with us, old man.

Key words in bold

It is sorta like the "Bless your heart" award in the South

It also give ammo to troll the B1G as the Capitol One gives too much weight to lacrosse and soccer so the ACC does well in that one.

Hey I never said I make excuses. I was just saying others brought it up and they were attacked. But when it gets brought up about them losing to Bama, it's only because they lost Ewers early in the game.
For the record...I don't lean on excuses if we lose. When we got beat by Bama in the SECCG in 2021 we had lots of em, and I for one never threw that up to a single Bama fan. I think good teams have enough depth and moxy to fight through injuries and win anyway. We got beat by a better team that night and I have the sack to admit it.
Oooooooooooh, but when they lost Williams and Metchie? Shoot man, some are STILL throwing that ridiculous excuse up.

You can't switch the argument to yourself and excuse all Georgia fans. I am sure there are some Texas fans and some Bama fans who didn't use injuries as an excuse just like you. If you are criticizing Texas fans and Bama fans in general, you have to compare them to Georgia fans in general, and not just yourself.

I am sure you are exceptional.

That's a dumb statement, but if it annoys a lowly Tennessee fan, I'll keep on posting. (wink)

it really true that the Aggies won a NC in meat cutting? For real?

Got it wrong. National championship in meat cutting judging.

It wasn’t the injuries, it was the dozen or so opt outs.. bowl games in the playoff era are meaningless. Florida’s bowl games against UCF, Oklahoma, and the Beavers testify to that.

Surely you're not talking about the Sugar Bowl? Deandre Baker sat out, that's it.

Were any competitors out with injuries?

If Utx was in, they probably got taken down by the Bama team.

Actually I think that is OU. But back to Texas, giving credit where credit is due, they have an outstanding athletic department everywhere but football. Somehow the cancer that infects football does not extend to the rest where the money seems to actually make a difference.

He definitely does. If there is anything Texas related on this board, he's an automatic reply

I don't have an axe to grind. I responded to a post by a Texas fan on another thread and got ganged up on by a bunch of punk Longhorn fans. You're the one's with an axe to grind. It was just self-defense on my part. Thankfully some fellow UGA fans came to my aid. I think you all have a "little man's complex"...or uh, a "little team's complex" is more like it.

They beat UGA in a bowl game 5 years ago, so they, of course, own us.

Ok...look man, I'm a chaplain that stands over dying people for a living. I like to think I am a very nice and compassionate person, not mean or aggressive. So, in the Spirit of forgiving and forgetting and getting back on the right foot with you guys/gals, I will say please accept my apology for anything I've said derogatory or offensive to you, your fellow Longhorn fan buddies and the great state of Texas and it's storied program...the Texas Longhorns. Please forgive me, welcome to the SEC and Go Horns!

Hehe, and I apologize for my relentless trolling of you and the other guy yesterday. I'm thrilled at the prospect of joining this conference and can't wait to get started. Go Dawgs!

Just as long as we all agree that aggy sucks.

This board was a lot better when Arkansas fans skillfully trolled this board.

Coordinated, pinpointed, hilarious attacks that had even LSU fans laughing.

Now we get smokyCajunEarlyAg7.
