I am waiting on Kristi Malzahn to put an end to the Gus to Texas rumors. It is awfully quiet on the planes.

No way AU can outbid UT.
Gus has never stayed anywhere more than 3 seasons.

The other side of that is that Saban would be retiring sooner rather than later (I.e. in 2 or 3 years).

I think this happens. I also think he would like to go out on top, so if in 2 or 3 years Bama ends the season on top, don't be surprised if he announces retirement. If it's a 3 or 4 loss season, I don't think he will. There's just too much pressure for an individual to sustain his level of success long term. Retire and travel the world.

If Miss Terry feels unappreciated, I hate that, because I don't know what more people can do to show that they appreciated them very much. Most people are shown appreciation for a good job done by the salary that they make, and I think Nick is very appreciated. As far as the students appreciating what they have done, well students don't appreciate their own parents, how can she expect them to appreciate a football coach. That is just how they are. One day they will look back on their days as students and remember the great seasons that we had with pride, but right now, they just want to have a good time. We've been winning ever since the ones that are in school now have been here, so they don't know about the lean years to compare.
I think that they would see more appreciation if the people that can'g get tickets or can't afford tickets could get in, because they would stay for an entire game. It's just a catch 22. The students have a right to the tickets, because this is their school and their time, but as long as we play small schools, and it messes up their party time, they will leave, and that happens everywhere.

Subtle.

The door is still open.

....But it's not like they didn't already know how fast a fanbase will turn on their coach over not winning a title every year....or- GASP- lose a game they shouldn't, once in a while; they spent time in BR.

They put millions into the Catholic church on campus.

I don't think that means anything, but it's worth noting that he's investing money in the community

Even Terry Saban knows that gumps are the worst fans ever. The average gump wants to act like its only the bottom half of their fan base that is atrocious, but even Terry knows it's all of them. This article is spot on. War Damn Eagle.

"I guess I have to say it, I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." Nick Saban, December 21, 2006, while shaking his finger in the faces of the assembled press

This is literally the only thing you people have to cling to in order to sustain the ever fading hope that Nick Saban will somehow, someway leave Tuscaloosa sooner rather than later.

Why can't you just have Terry's attitude? She absolutely loathes y'all.

It's just the cult of gump. Y'all aren't capable of appreciating the people that give you success. You can't teach what you don't know.

Now that TAMU has reached their ceiling in the SEC, your posts have significantly decreased in quality.

You mean we should show our appreciation like Auburn fans showed Coach Chizik? One year after winning a championship(first in 50 years) Auburn fans were booing their team and coach. You talk about how our fans leave the stadium, but have you really forgotten last year and how many Auburn fans would leave a game.
You really should concentrate on your own team, and your coach, and really not worry about ours.
You want Coach Saban to leave so bad that you can taste it. It will happen, and we're going to have to prepare for that, but it won't be this year.

I know you're trolling to a degree but it's funny how Auburn fans have convinced themselves that the Sabans and any other coach and their family (whether they're the head coach or an assistant coach) can't bare the ravenous redneck hordes they must endure. Auburn fans have such a warped f###ed up perception of the Tuscaloosa community it is comical. My dad lives in a neighborhood with some of the assistant coaches. The Sabans live in an incredibly nice neighborhood about a mile away. That area of Tuscaloosa which rival fans don't ever see is very nice. The social groups that the coaches run in is a bunch of great folks. Hence why they are so comfortable where they are. In other words, they don't deal with the "bottom half of the fanbase" except for maybe Fan Day and the SEC media days. Terri and CNS have a great situation and they know it. The only thing that could make them leave is a new challenge and not having anything whatsoever to prove at Alabama. It has NOTHING to do with fanbase expectations other than the complacency that is human nature among any fanbase that has won 3 of the last 4 national championships.
