What happened this year?

Likely a combination of ISU giving their spot to TCU and USM’s coach retiring so USM gets to honor him one last time.

USM has a better stadium and they average more fans per game than UT

One of this year’s committee members having a son on the USM baseball team and another committee member being an ex-AD of USM had nothing to do with it I’m sure

USM being able to hold more people probably had more to do with it, but keep crying.

Getting passed over for a Supers host by a Sun Belt school has turned Vol fans into insane conspiracy lunatics.

You’re in the SEC. Maybe get your shite together and build a nicer stadium instead of pinching pennies playing at the local American Legion park.

I find this a bit strange since this includes your biggest rival winning it all. Don’t get me wrong, if CoC or Furman were in it and we weren’t - sure I’d root for them. But I sure as shite don’t want Clemson to win for the sake of state pride.

To be fair, currently only one doesn’t have an asterisk.

Maybe we’ll actually start our renovations now since we’re getting embarrassed by a damn sun belt ball park.

To be fair, MSU had zero input in the decision to ban NC St.

I do agree that banning NC St was one of the biggest injustices in NCAA sports history, but that was totally out of MSU's control.

FWIW, I do realize you were trolling them and it was actually a pretty good troll.

But if USM wins the CWS this year doesn't that mean that they won't make the postseason next year like State and Ole Miss?

Well in State’s case, that would be 2 years

Geaux Eags! Happy for my Alma mater, I think they have a good shot this weekend. Would love to see Berry go out in Omaha, he’s been great for the university all these years

The asterisk argument with State’s title is just lazy. Yeah, NC State got hosed. But State still had to beat No. 2 Texas and No. 4 Vandy twice in Omaha. This is after they played the ACC Champion and underseeded No. 10 Notre Dame in a Super Regional.

To act like State had an easy path to the title is total ignorance. It actually was significantly more difficult than OM’s path last year
