Note to future UT head coaching candidates: get the UT chancellor to sign the MOU before you do because their word is not good.

How is UT fricked if the Chancellor didn't sign? Seems this is good for UT. Maybe I am misunderstanding.

I've talked to a business lawyer before fwiw. There's a concept that if someone representing an organization makes a deal, it can still be binding.
I would think the AD signing something applies in this case. Anybody in business law, please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is simple contract law. Greg will get something, it will just depend on how his laws can argue that he suffered from this. Tennessee has already made a statement that it wasnt because of him.

Verbal contracts can be more dangerous in court that written ones and UT made a verbal agreement and is frickED.

Lmao go read the SI piece about how all of this works. Schiano's leverage is basically shot if all four necessary parties have not signed the MOU.
Tennessee may give him a small amount to go away but they are on no way on the hook for millions atp

It's likely that Currie had actual or apparent authority to sign on behalf of the University unless spelled out otherwise.

It was never going to be something like $20 million.
Anything looks bad though. Tenn will want to get this behind them ASAP and lawsuits won't do that.
