ahh.. deflection, rather than discuss your program that just received it's LOA. If it's not a big deal, then why not discuss it and give your opinion of what penalties your teams will face?

Basketball - 1 year post season ban, loss of two scholarships, 2 year probation.

Football - 2 year probation, no scholarships lost.

22 vacated wins and a couple more yrs probation. Tennessee won't face vacated wins, but will face scholly cuts and probation. Perhaps reduction in recruiting visits also.

I think you guys lose some scholarships and possibly a post season ban for 1 year. It won't be that bad though.

We're not getting a postseason ban for a few secondary violations.

edit: unless you were talking about basketball.

If we fire Pearl, I don't even think we'll get a ban in basketball.

Right or wrong, I think it's becomming more evident every day that the Athletic Department has no intention of firing Pearl.

Basketball. I think football gets hit with probation and possibly a few scholarships lost.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of the league about the dangers of high profile EGO hires, and letting people have the keys to the car who don't respect the culture.

It could have been any school had the circumstances been just right.

Aren't you the guy that was calling UConn a classy basketball program in the UConn/TN game thread?

If Tennessee was planning on firing pearl to get lesser sanctions why would they have not done it already? Hes going to be the coach when the santions come down. There will be no postseason ban. The question is, does the NCAA hit bruce so hard that tennessee has no choice but to fire him.

That may be true, which is sad.

That's the consensus among all the media types who believe to be "in the know."

Agreed! As the coach of our institution its his job to be a role model for our players. Hell our players are more mature than his lying, and cheating arse.

I thought Pearl should have been fired when he admitted lying to the NCAA, but of course I was in a vast minority that is slowly growing with the on-the-court performance.

Whats sad is that the supposed tennessee fans have put their personal hate for pearl ahead of the best interest of this basketball program.
