I just can't imagine his family doing all this without a guaranteed backup school waiting on Tenn to decline his offer.

Where does he go now? FSU? USC?

He can't transfer within the conference, he has to learn another system in fall camp, and most of the major programs already have their QB for 2025 season.

As much as I want to laugh at Tennessee, Josh handled this correctly, Nico is going to be shocked at the leverage with other schools he just lost. Wouldn’t be surprised if nobody else even offered a million now. Hope he’s got something in writing.

First time saying this, but very VERY proud of Tennessee. Don't need to spend millions upon millions for a cocky, average QB. Tell him to the hit the road and they did. This fricking shite needs to stop.

They would be absolutely bonkers. They are already paying Moore over a million and Nico legitimately sucks. If you can’t shine in Heupel’s QB friendly system he’s cooked. No way Lanning makes that decision.

This is a huge victory for Tennessee. No player is worth that much, much less a subpar player.

What is the most important part of the sport?

What is the difference in the best football player on the planet and the best jump roper? People watch football.

Kinda rooting for Tennessee to do well this season. As a Texas fan I've always respected Heupel.

Seems like an easy no brainer decision for UT staff. He was mid. Probably wouldn’t have even played in the pre NIL days. Desperation for success and trying to get it the easy way by overpaying breeds laziness in both scouting (staff) and players accepting development

Tenner was on the front end of this ridiculous overpaying phase, so hopefully they’ll lead in the shift back to common sense.

ESPN's Chris Low, citing sources, reported that Iamaleava's representatives wanted his NIL pay increased to $4 million per year, using the possibility of him entering the portal as leverage.

He was only getting 2 million a year and poor guy must have felt like a pauper.

There are rumors that Lanning called Heupel and told him that the kid’s camp was shopping offers around.

If that turns out to be true good on Lanning.
