All teams have, but there's no reason to think they should. Betting is about making accurate predictions based on facts like experience, talent, coaching etc. etc.

Miami is lacking in everything from starters to coaching experience, from talent to reps in the system.

There is legitimately no reason to bet on Miami and if anyone does they're basically hoping that Florida does bad things on their end rather than saying Miami is a better team.

Everyone knows that anyone can win, but the point of this is why we think one team will win.

If you literally can't give more than two reasons why Miami matches up against us in some way that gives them an advantage then it's just white noise.

Just like there is no reason to think Kirby is 2006-2015 mark richt, but that doesn’t stop you from making that comparison.

You’re probably right, I think Richt is a vastly superior coach on game day. All you guys care about is stars though so Kirby fits right in.

i've never disagreed with the assessment that we "should win". but you and everyone else saying we should win by 3+ scores is basically treating miami like their FAMU when they're not.

if this game was midseason and we're 6-0 and they're 2-4, i'd probably side with you more. however, that's not where are in the season so i'm sorry if i'm a bit of a skeptic.

Besides some poor fake kick decisions, the results on the field don’t support this take. Kirby’s teams are evidence of very good game planning/coaching. The best example is the halftime adjustment vs Oklahoma that was on point.

My biggest concern is obviously our Oline vs their front seven.

But our front seven is also better than their Oline..and about equally better.

So their only real advantage...we have the same edge on the other side.

It would very shocking for Miami to beat us. I highly doubt it's competitive by the time the fourth is around. They have a lot of flaws. I watched six games of theirs last year, and not once did it resemble a good team.

This one is like the Tenn game. We SHOULD win comfortably...but it is football. You never know what could happen.

That's the thing: The tangibles are there.

Similarly, I'm treating Miami like FAMU because they've been playing like FAMU. Again: Their Spring Game wasn't televised for a reason, they didn't have a broadcast for their game for a reason. They know the product they put out is absolute garbage and they know that they have to fix more problems with less time and overall less experience at every fundamental level.

If all SEC fans come together to agree on Florida over Miami, it's a safer bet. I don't think anyone has Miami, and 7 points is pretty low for all of the things that we have going for us.

Nice framing, let's take a look at a metric.

Richt:

First season: (8-4)

Second season: (13-1)

Third season: (11-3)

Smart:

First season: (8-5)

Second season: (13-2)

Third season: (11-3)

I have no idea why anyone would think that this is the same trajectory. Maybe the fourth season will be different, but I can tell you what his last season will be like:

Just like Richt's. A rich history of being "almost" there with no National Titles to show for it.

A gator got mad about Franks not improving his passing in sec play last year, and he wasn’t gonna have it mentioned without throwing a tantrum.

I would pass. The line is right. If you just want a small bet to make it more interesting, take Miami.

Framing is important because There was a distinct downturn in richt’s career starting in 2006.

Part of the reason why is that Richt was unable to match the new gold standard in work ethic set by urban and saban. He wasn’t always able to overcome the holes on his roster.

Does that sound like a problem Kirby is likely going to have?

Always fade Miami before they're exposed. FL should cover 7 going away.

This is probably one of the easier takes, especially at 7. Miami's camp/practices/Spring Game remind me a lot of Taggart's.

Come on Matt. Are you saying you didn't know what was going on in Florida? What kind of fans do you guys have down there?

What kind of fans obsess over another team so much that Florida fans get their updates from a thread started about their rival?

Is Mullen that scary?

I don't like this game giving 7. I expect the Cane pass rush and LBs to have success stopping the run and creating havoc against a very inexperienced Gator O-Line. If that happens, there's really no telling what the rest of the game looks like.

Take the under definitely, and lean towards taking the 7 if you absolutely must make a choice.
