The Florida fans on this site seem pretty cool. I'm just looking to know what to expect should we be travelling there for games.

2 words, Sunshine Seats. Make sure y'all negotiate for an early September game.

Never had a problem with them. When they are good they are like all fanbases in they like to talk some but even then its not bad.

Now that their team is garbage, they're much more tolerable. Think of Texas fans but on steroids.

Gainesville has its charms but is mostly pretty trashy.

Yes. Everyone. Take the advice from a 19 year old who has never been to Gainesville.

This kid is an idiot.

If by charms you mean shitty fans and police that bust your balls over every open container, then yes, it is charming.

TBH, back when an open container was illegal (it is now legal and has been for a few years), the only time I saw people getting in trouble was when they were complete dickheads.

The cops simply would ask people to dump it if they saw it and actually enforced it. I've tailgated at UF for 30+ years and can tell you I maybe saw 3 instances in total.

Some of you are just full of shite.

Gainesville is pretty nice now as far as places to eat and drink go. They've built a lot of new stuff in the last 5-7 years.

We are better than most to visitors. I have been attending Gator games since 1966 and have seen very little abuse of visiting fans, except for the ones that deserved it. Talking to you Tiger fans.

Worst fans in the SEC imo. 1 trip, had a drink thrown at me. 2nd trip, my cousin got punched in the face. Frick gaytor fans.

Once (assuming) you survive the Tegu attacks you should be fine.

As a UGA fan it is hard to gauge because they hate us so much. It's mutual, of course. Example- if you asked Auburn fans their opinion of visiting Athens, you'd get a very different answer that if you asked Arkansas or Kentucky fans about their experience.

OK and UF have no beef, so it would probably be a pretty enjoyable experience for OP in Gainseville.

I don't think you're accounting for your fanbase being awful yourselves enough in that analysis.

Thats something I struggle with as a Bama fan. We are terrible.

Not AS terrible as some fanbases, but terrible.

If they are anything like MetroAtlantaGator, then it’s a party. From on here, the UF fans are good. My dad and uncle said the fans were fantastic in January 2009.
