Tim Tebow is a married man.
The Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback has exchanged vows with 2017 Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. The ceremony took place at La Paris Estate in Cape Town, South Africa, People reported.
After months of planning, the wedding of Tim Tebow and fiancée Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters went off without a hitch despite reports the catering staff had errored in delivery of the reception dinner. With only 5 dinner rolls & two full salmon and the divine intervention from Mr. Tebow, the 500+ guests dined to satisfaction. Other reports that the table water had miraculously turned to wine have not yet been confirmed. Many of the people in attendance fought back tears as the couple joined hands and led the reception in the pre meal prayer.
“It was very emotional,” guest Urban Meyer, Tebow’s football coach from the University of Florida, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “To watch the two of them begin their life together was just beautiful. It was the perfect day.”
The former NFL quarterback, 32, and the Miss Universe 2017 said “I do” in an intimate sunset ceremony at La Paris Estate in Cape Town, South Africa on Monday. During the 30-minute ceremony, they exchanged emotional vows that they had written for each other.
And according to the guests, the vows weren’t the only thing that was perfect. While the previous days were damp and cold, the wedding day was sunny and warm.
“It was a beautiful day,” says Meyer. “Perfect weather for an outdoor wedding.”
