I don’t know how they measure that but Alabama doesn’t have much SEC experience in the secondary, and Milroe is qb.
Talent aside, the first year with new staff, most of whom have never coached for this head coach , and 9 wins is reasonable imo.

I'd still contend that if you lose 3 games you don't have a pot to piss in
There are only 60 something Power 4 schools.

I've been telling ya'll Gata could sneak up on somebody asleep at the wheel due to how they did last year. Even though it's a home game for us, I haven't linked in an auto W for that game.

Nahhh shut the frick up. All offseason the media along with other fanbases have filled social media with stupid takes about how Bama is going to fall face first.
Yall are going to eat that crow like the two girls one cup video, and it will be glorious.
I don’t wanna hear the “we were just trolling y’all are so insecure” shite from any one of you.

hy, because everyone deserves to be in the playoffs? 12 teams is plenty.... because all you gotta do is win.

Considering almost every Bama coach in history has won there consistently, I don't see why DeBoer would be intimidated. Especially with how trash the LSU defense is destined to be yet again.

And somehow a mid major will take a 12th spot from someone. Not sure how I feel about that.
Worse is that the Big 12 will not only take a spot, but have a guaranteed top 4 seed and bye. They don’t have a single team in the top 20 of talent. They don’t have any programs with the clout to pull in title contending talent. People bash the ACC but they have 3 teams on that list.

Here is an honest question for Alabama fans.
How will you feel if Alabama does not win the title this year?
Just listen to the media. Alabama fans are CRAZZZZYYYYY. If DeBoer doesn't win the natty this year we'll want him fired!! Why? Because Alabama fans are CRAZZZYYYY
Let's be real. Lord Saban only won 1 natty in the past 6 years. Were Alabama fans calling for his head? Of course not.
Most Alabama fans were relatively pleased with last year.
Wanting Alabama to be a top 3 program, and win a natty once every 5 years or so is not any more crazy than Ohio State fans or a lot of other fanbases.
We expect to have the best football program just like Kentucky and Duke expect to have the best basketball programs.
It's not CRAZY as the media says. It's normal for the most historically elite program in a sport.

WTF? I think, collectively, Alabama coaches have a better winning percentage at Tiger Stadium than they do at Bryant Denny Stadium.
Most of the time, even the worst Alabama coaches in its history have just automatically chalked up a win in Tiger Stadium on most occasions.
It's the easiest stadium to win at in the entire nation, as far as Alabama is concerned.

So the 8 SEC teams we play are all top 21 in talent. I’d like to see anyone show me any SEC team in history who has done that before. Or show me any SEC team having played 6 ranked SEC teams in a season before.
Everyone is missing that divisions meant no one played such hard schedules before as this year. Divisions protected everyone from facing all the ranked teams. Now without divisions its just luck of how SEC came up with schedules.
SEC tried to be fair using last 11 years worth of records and ranking but should have weighted recent years heavier. Or just used last 2 years since they knew they’d need to figure out long term setup. They never accounted for historic bad teams peaking all at same time and just happen to be lined up with OU. Tx sucked past 11 years and got easy schedule for sucking so bad. And likewise, those teams who rose didn’t plan on playing OU and would not have without this setup. So they too got a harder schedule.
Regardless, the games will be fun and I’m looking forward to them. If we can go 5-3 and 9-3 overall that will have been a major achievement after the gauntlet we face.

You went from being one of the top 2 to the next tier down. You aren’t winning the SEC with that level of talent. Depth gonna kill you.
OU is and has been more talented than LSU and auburn for decades, more talented than Florida most years as well. A top 8 talent composite is absolutely enough to win the sec. Mizzou went 11-2 with a non existent blue chip ratio. You have zero knowledge of CFB.

Ridiculous. LSU 2019 is one of the most talented teams in CFB history. Same for the UF NC teams. AU 2010 was a one man show (for the most part) Can Newton is a generational player. If you get one you can do similar.

They didn’t win the SEC. That’s the goal right?

I see you Florida hiding at #12. Beat Miami and lets get this party started.

Nothing surprising about this.
In regards to Bama, them being #1 or #2 in talent was always expected this year. Saban waiting until after signing day to retire solidified that for them.
Bama is killing it with recruiting though, and that was the main question. Bama was always going to be extremely good the next couple of years. Deboer's recruiting makes it very likely they continue well past that.

I understand that you can't read every post and thread on this site, but if you really haven't seen one thread or comment about Bama's "inevitable decline post-Saban," you must have been intentionally ignoring them.
Bama is likely going to decline post-Saban. That doesn't mean they're "doomed as a program". That is just accepting that Saban was the GOAT and his replacement likely will not be.
Bama won a title 6 times in 17 season at Alabama.
IF Deboer wins 3 in 15 years that would be a decline... but Bama would still be a great program over that period with those results.
Can you understand that you were at such a high point that you can be significantly worse and still be excellent?

Bama will always recruit well based on pedigree. So the 25 class was not unexpected as all their recent history is Saban results.
The key is how they do this year. If new coach struggles a bit that might give some commits pause, so I think this season is very important for them. And while they will always recruit well it only takes a few top recruits to pick someone else to start bringing them back to the fold.
Like I said earlier in thread, I picked Bama to finish 1 in conf. Based in talent and a new hungry coach. What I mean by hungry is similar in a way to when Stoops retired, he was just not as motivated as his earlier years. But he left a title team to Riley who blew it vs Georgia. You new coach will be highly motivated and will have the players to do great things. He’ll spend that extra time to prep his teams. So I fully expect Bama to be at top of heap at end of season.
But it will be interesting to watch unfold as fans will have high expectations and a bad loss could give them pause.
