If Brandon Miller were white he wouldn't have handed a gun to a fellow thug with which to shoot and kill a mother/woman.

Prove me wrong. Show an example of an otherwise.

Let's play hypothetical scenarios

Your college age daughter is driving her deadbeat boyfriend around. she knows he's broke and doesn't have any means of paying for groceries. He says he's hungry and to pull into a gas station....he comes out with food after assaulting the cashier. Daughter was just sitting in the car flipping through cell phone... but she knew he didn't have money. Cameras show she had no direct involvement..She works with police to testify etc etc but is she guilty or just poor judgement? Should she be kicked out of school.

If she hadn't pulled into the gas station...if she would have asked "you got money?" The situation wouldn't have occurred.
No one is going to say she belongs in jail. Why because she had no knowledge a crime was to be committed, and no involvement in the event. Just poor judgement

If anything elses says Brandon had more involved status...things then change but I'm not giving him a pass because he's an athlete..I'm not making him guilty and until he proves he's innocent because he's an athlete either...I'm just not willing to make him responsible for the actions of others just based on what he should have done

There are 8 states for 2023 that are considered the most racist: Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Vermont and West Virginia.
Data off World Population Review.

Word of note. In reading, Louisiana racism is based largely from the Catholic population looking down on non Catholics. Just reporting data.
What is interesting is majority are the northern states.

Kind of what's happening by opposing fans...

Let's assume it was Miller who pulled the trigger and Miles assisted (Miles and Miller both would be in jail right now)... but Miles is expendable and Miller is useful.

It’s no coincidence that the people on this board who are melting the hardest are from the most racist state in the country, Louisiana. Just ask NFLSU.

Oh I see, you’re being ironic.

How different would it be had miller not brought miles his gun and the thug boyfriend shot and killed him instead? He fired shots too remember.

If the victim were the white daughter of a prominent booster Miller would be in jail awaiting trial

It wouldn't have to be a cop, the victim could be the same, if Miller was just a dude from Tuscaloosa he would have been arrested. Might not have been charged but he'd a been in jail until it was sorted.

It is always about the individuals involved.

If it was just some benchwarmer, it would've been an indefinite suspension. Byrne saying it's about fairness is just laughable stupidity. Nobody outside of Tuscaloosa believes it.

I am torn on it. On one hand, I really REALLY hate the "let's suspend him and wait for legal implications to finish" because you now risk an innocent person losing eligibility for no reason. I just hate that in general with these college kids. Particularly when it is over really stupid stuff like a little bit of pot or something.

On the other hand, the severity of the crime committed plays a factor here. Throw in the proximity to the crime that is known by the public and you really have a gas and match scenario.

Personally, an immediate suspension when the crime happened would have probably been the best move by the university based on both the serverity and Miller's known role.

I can see the thought process Alabama has taken, but I think it paints them into a corner of the perception of victories over justice and just is not a good look in general.
